Still won't work for me, even after the patch.

Same here. The update got stuck on 99%, I uninstalled the app, reinstalled, restarted my PC. When I ran the update again it actually finished. I ran the game thinking it would finally work... Nope!!!! I uninstalled Sims 2, reinstalled. It finished the installation properly this time so I thought it was solved.... Nope!!!! Still the same message. 'Files have been corrupted during the installation, please reinstall the application.' Blah, blah. I then ran a repair, and..... Still the same message!!!! I literally give up. I'm so gutted, I could cry.

Same here. Just updated, no fix to the corruption issue. Also, no matter how many times I click 'uninstall' on the EA app, it will not uninstall. So I can't even try again.
I can't believe how shady this is. I'm worried that they won't refund me if it gets fixed because I have been able to play Sims 1 fine and I bought the bundle.

Hey all,
To confirm, are you launching the game on EA app, EPIC, or Steam?
If you could provide us with an EA App Error Report string if you're playing on that platform, as well as a DXdiag that would be very helpful as well. - simsperson20056 months agoNew Rookie
Hello EA_Cade! I am also facing the same issue and I am launching the game through the EA app. I have filed an error report, 132a251f-7706-401b-a005-76b69fc8c08b. Here is my DxDiag file and a screenshot of the error! This was taken after the patch announced today. Hope this helps!!

For some reason my DxDiag file wasn't attached. Here it is again.

I am having the same issue still as well! Clearing the app cache, running as admin and all still does not work sadly. It seems this update hasn’t changed anything for me.
Never got to open the game so far :,)
I would love to hear of any fixes that are found though!

I also am having the same issue with the "uninstall" button! You will have to go into your computer settings, go to the tab that says "apps", and type in the search bar or scroll until you see The Sims 2, click and press uninstall if you are on Windows 10! Hope this helps 👍
