Sims 2 legacy crashing on beach lots!!

Please fix this issue! Sims 2 legacy app keeps crashing when loading and also trying to build on a beach lot

  • Hi all,

This was resolved in today's patch:

    • The Sims 2 might crash if a custom beach lot is placed in Belladonna Cove

If you're still experiencing this issue, please create a new post so we can continue to investigate. Thanks!

    Heya madunn136

Are you getting any error messages when the crash occurs?

Is this happening in a new neighborhood created after today's patch? You'll need to move or delete the Neighborhoods folder in Documents -> EA Games -> The Sims 2 and a new Neighborhoods file will generate when you launch the game again. Be sure to delete the entire Neighborhoods folder rather than deleting the sub-folders within that file.

Thanks for your reply - prior to today’s patch it was displaying the "The application has crashed. The application will now terminate.“ and after updating today’s patch it just closes the game down with no message at all.
I am trying to build currently in belladonna cove.

  • Before updating to yesterdays patch the message displaying was "The application has crashed. The application will now terminate.

Since updating the new patch the game just crashes with no error message.
The neighbourhood I’m playing is Belladonna Cove.

This just happened to me ... tried placing a beach lot for the first time on a new neighbourhood (i.e. one that I've created, not one of the premade neighbourhoods) and tried moving a family and the game instantly closed down, no warning or error message.... if I follow this advice and delete the Neighbourhoods folder will it delete all my progress? :( Sorry I'm not very sims techy savvy...

I am having the same problem with crashin beach lot. And I am also wondering, if deleting Neighborhoods file will delete my game progress?

  • Same Issue. I was trying to create a beach lot at Belladonna Cove, had to delete the lot and place it again a couple of times because the terrain paint was messed up -> crashed while painting the terrain.

The second time I tried to replace the beach lot, deleted it, then moved it to the area next to it -> crashed again

  • madunn136 OrganizationZero 9a7249b12e6e1d80 Although this has not been mentioned in the latest update, I have tried placing some new beach lots on a steep terrain (which originally crashed my game on the same spots in the neighborhood), and they seem to be fine after the patch.

You can try bulldozing the beach lots that used to crash, and place brand new ones on the same spots in the neighborhood to see if they crash as well.
