Sims 2 Legacy crashing when adding a sim in CAS

Question

Just bought it today and the first thing I wanted to do was play in Strangetown with a sim I created. So I clicked on add family and went to CAS but when I clicked on add an adult sim to my household my game crashed with the error code:

Direct3D returned an error: D3DERR_INVALIDCALL! The application will now terminate

It's happened a few times and I don't really know why or how to fix so help would be appreciated. Thank you

Hello, I had the same problem and I find the solution :)

I went to windows graphics settings, added sims 2 then chose to use high performance and now it works.

I hope it will be ok for you, don't hesitate if you have a question
