Sims 2 Legacy on and off Lag

I think at the moment there is no fix for this issue and it kinda seems that it's not on EA's radar. Maybe if we keep this thread active they'll notice it. I tried the same things you did and it didn't work out either.  The lag disappered for a day or two and then it was right back. Ugh! I just gave up on that household for now and really hope that they fix it soon. With my play style I really need the sim-owned community lots / businesses. I used to love having businesses back in the day when I was playing the "old" Sims 2. It's really frustrating that there are so many bugs in this version. Some are minor, but this one ... 

After some further playing , I took my family back to the business, waiting ages with it lagging so much and once I returned it was playable, yay but as soon as I returned my family back home it lagged again .

I was doing so well with my family and I opened my business and returned home and the lag started. I moved them out of their home and back in , I moved them to another lot and still lag. I tried another family and they played absolutely fine. Can I fix this ? Or is my family no longer usable?  Plus is there any point starting again if this is an issue related to open for business. 

I forgot to precise that I tried to sell the business, but the freezes keep going on after that.

I have the exact same issue. I used boolProp testingCheatsEnabled true, and it opened console error messages saying there's a problem with controller business remote (seems to be on infinite loop).

I hope it helps and this will be fixed soon :) Opening a business was really THE thing I waited to do and still can't 😭

I have been experiencing the exact same problem with my first Sim to own a business on a community lot. For me the lag is consistent tough and nothing seems to fix it not even the new update. I tried to move the household and put it back to the same lot (which I had moved a tiny bit). Game ran fine for about one Sim-day and then it lagged like crazy again and I didn't even visit my Sim's business on the community lot this time. If I take him there or anywhere else the game runs fine as well. It also loads super quickly - even after the lag occurred (no comparison to back in the day waiting minutes for a lot or neighborhood to load). My computer doesn't sound like it's working harder though.

I tested going to community lots with other sims and it worked fine. No lag. Same with businesses at home, also no lag.

I'm so sad because I was really looking forward to play TS2 again like back in the good old days. Hopefully it'll get fixed soon. I really wanted to try out the Build A City Challenge :(
