Sims 2 loads But Crashes in Create a Sim

I was and still am excited that EA released the sims 1 and sims 2, I had bought both. I did not really have any issue in the beginning with the sims 1, the longer I played the game the more prone to crashing or glitching would occur. It would crash computer screen and then I would have to restart my whole laptop again. Not really an issue I am still able to enjoy it, I just save every couple of mins :/, so that when it does crash, I have a bit of my game saved. Where I am a bit bummed is the Sims 2 game will load in and everything but it's when I click to create a new household and to add a sim it'll terminate my game and crash. So, at last, I have been just waiting to see if EA on their part will release a fix. I neeeed the sims 2 to be fixed ASAP pleaseee i just wanna play lol
