Sims 2 Re-Release not eating bug

I have recently purchased the sims 25th birthday bundle and at first everything was great but now whenever my sims cook a meal just as they’re about the plate up they will reset and the food will disappear. Or sometimes they will set the food on the table and if I tell them to eat it they will reset and won’t eat the food. I don’t have any mods or cc installed so I’m not sure what’s causing the issue. Any ideas?
