The Sims 2 Legacy

When I launch Sims 2 Legacy from the EA App, it does not launch in my monitor's resolution, and when I attempt to change the resolution settings in the game and relaunch, it does not save these settings and goes back to launching in the incorrect resolution. I want it to launch in 1024x768 however it usually launches in a different resolution. Aside from this, it hasn't crashed, however there is some lag/stuttering in build mode on larger lots and in live mode on some lots. My graphics card is an AMD RX 7800 XT, I am not sure if these cards are causing issues with this game. Anyone else experiencing this?
