Please do not bind Sims 2 to Origins. That has ruined The Sims Medieval. I have two licenses for the latter, but cannot play it at all. It launches to the welcome page, then acts like it's running, but does not actually open to be played.
I still have the truck-load of discs for Sims 2, because of all the add-ons. That was back when the prices weren't price-gouging, like they are with Sims 4. I also still have Sims 3 and all of the add-on discs. The latter all disappeared from the Origins app, so I will have to re-install them all by hand on my pc. First, you have to find out what the proper order is, because they cannot be installed willy-nilly.
The best university add-on was Sims 2, if memory serves. I think that Sims 3 was the best for building houses, if I recall correctly. Sims 4 is so buggy that it is unbelievable. The cache also corrupts so easily. People frozen in your house or on your property, or something you were doing cannot be clicked away. I had a recent one where a written book was not coding as ready-to-be-published, so I could still pick to resume, but that just flickered on and back off. I had to leave the game to clear the cache. Then, there is that critter on the mountain. It is the most annoying thing, because if you fit-out one of the rentals as a buyer's home, the thing will teleport into your house, if you lock the doors. You have to constantly disable its visits anytime you leave the mountain and come back.
In Sims 3, you could disable vampires and werewolves. Sims 4 packed these in with lovely items, but you cannot disable the actual vampires (at least. I didn't bother with the werewolf add-on after the vampire fiasco), if you just want the other content. You have to not install that pack, even though you paid good money for it.
I still want to thank the devs. I have easily over 1000 hours of game play spanning from The Sims Deluxe to Sims 4. I miss being able to mod occupations, like adding an actual archaeologist, but then, I haven't modded Sims 4. I have had to install a script to allow me to clear all moodlets, because of a bug with the close knit life-style. I finally just turned that off. The NAP is buggy, because if you turn it off and start a new game, the voting is still enabled, but only you can vote. If you do not vote, the first item in the list is enacted. The green gardening penalizes my gal constantly, although she has 8 different plants growing. I'm clearly not understanding what is meant by green gardening. I would expect that when I disable the NAP, that there is absolutely no neighborhood action plans available or being imposed. That is sadly not the case.
My wish to the devs is that they would fix the bugs before developing new content. It is my constant wish for so many games, who use the players as beta testers. :-( Please fix these to make really good games great.
