Thanks for your patience while we've investigated into this issue- Have you moved the game's .exe, the game data folder, or the install folder to a new path or location after you installed it?
Please try the following steps:
- If you were able to create save data, be sure to back that up
- Uninstall The Sims 2 from Steam
- Reinstall your game through Steam
- Without making any changes to location, try running the game directly from your Steam library or from the desktop shortcut
If this doesn't clear up the error, your system may not meet the minimum specs required. In this case, you can contact Steam support to get a refund processed.
