Tombstone of L&D/Alien Pregnancy Not Working

Hey, I'm trying to get my sim pregnant via aliens. After him getting abducted over and over and over again and reading that it's just rare so I may just be extremely unlucky, I decided to cheat it via the Tombstone of Life and Death. Absolutely nothing I do interacting with the tombstone works, and so every cheats work-around for this online is useless. Does anyone have a fix for either the cheats or the original problem?

I've tried "Make Me Alien Pregnant" on the tombstone, and also "Simulate genetic merger with.." via the tombstone with Pollination Tech#9. My sim can "Summon Aliens" without cheats, but I have been doing this endlessly with no luck. 

My sim is an adult male human and has 11 days before aging to an elder. He lives alone in Strangetown. I have the established problem that when there is another sim on the lot the cinematic stuffs up and the abduction doesn't go ahead. Most of the times I've triggered an abduction it has been successful, but without impregnation. 

I'm getting really frustrated.
