I feel this way but with another franchise. The new installment has some really good features that make it hard to go back to the older games even though they were in return better in some areas! I was kinda annoyed with some things in ts2 after going back to it but after keeping with it i got into it really fast. I dont play it as much for some reason but once i open it up i dont feel like closing it back!
