Because Sims 2 may just not run on their computer for whatever reason.
Especially for those who did not get the Ultimate Collection. Because then, on top of the usual get the game to recognize your graphics card and all that, they have to contend with installing and patching the game.
And for some people, graphics do play a big part in their desire to play a game. You may be able to separate the two and I am as well, but not everyone can and dismissing that claim for those who can't is not something you can say.
