@seaben : Yeah, I've been using all of Twallan's mods for years. You can ask anyone - I'm always trying to get everyone else to use them, too. :) And DebugEnabler, I really love that mod. It can do all sorts of things that most people never even look at.
In this case, they weren't helping. My game doesn't even get far enough for Overwatch to take effect. Also, if I go into either CAS or try to modify a texture of an item, my game will immediately crash. I think it's just that there's too much stuff in the game overall. Plus, Sims 3 was poorly optimized; the internal database of the game is absolutely horrendous, which is one of the reasons that one of the most important things the Nraas mods does is to delete the inventory of the townies once every Sim day, so the database doesn't seize up.
I have at least as much CC in Sims 4 as I do in Sims 3, and it never crashes unless there's specifically a mod conflict. It also runs much more smoothly; I remember in Sims 3 frequently having to wait sometimes several minutes for an animation to take effect, or something I've queued up for a Sim to show up; I never have those lag problems in Sims 4. Sims 4 might have really boring Sims with no personality at all, but at least the game RUNS smoothly. Which I will have to admit is not the best selling point for a game. :cold_sweat:
I hope the devs get it right in Sims 5, and make something that's programmed better than Sims 3, but where the Sims actually have personality (unlike Sims 4), and the game actually DOES something without you having to direct every single thing, unlike Sims 4, where you have to tell everyone - including townies - what to do, or nothing interesting ever happens.
But at least the toddlers are adorably cute in Sims 4. They did get that right, in the end. ;)
