Simon came to the house right after birth, but for some reason never got close to neither mother nor child. After than he never came back.

Have to disappoint you on this one.
I was not mentioning SP to AlexaKry and bekkasan, because I was thinking of getting it, I already have it. The story has been created with story progression (+6 sub modules) installed from the beginning.
There are no way “Sims 3” can work without being coded, it is a game after all, and games are coded. The question is if Nraas does a better job at it than EA did. In my opinion is seems so, but haven’t played a million hours so I might be wrong. But at least I have some tuning options that I would not have with EA.
You can’t compare this story to a normal game. There have been many hours twisting the game to make it possible even before I began and several hours later. My sims do not live in a normal world, there have been no buildings at all when we began. There is no natural immigration, and lots of other stuff is disabled/enabled compared to a standard game.
