@Tamijo I'm happy you will delay his leaving and see what happens. I think this is could be a pivotal event for Simon and Magdalena. I hope so.
@DivaDoodle @Tamijo I do agree that SP can and does match up sims willy nilly if you are using default settings. I don't use default settings. But, I don't really care what townies do unless I need them for my story and then I plunk them in a caste that protects them. I think for the way a lot of us play that use SP it provides a lot better performance and makes the town more vibrant and social than EA SP does. All the ea version did was move folks out as soon as my sims met them. ? Ticked me off so many times!
I love having the ability to control the townies with my settings and let them have at it and watch what happens with them. I can also swoop in and change things if something seems off to me. But, I don't play each and every townie like you do Diva. I'm still amazed you don't lose sims to that immigration thing that EA does. I will still use SP in my Supernatural world as I feel that will give me better options than using what EA provides and I sure don't want any of my families moving out after making homes and venues for them to have fun in. It took me a little while to learn exactly what settings I needed to use to truly enjoy the towns and townies relationships and I actually don't cookie cutter them from save to save. It really depends on what kind of story I'm telling to what kind of settings I will use. I love having that ability to pick and choose what suits me and the town and the story. I certainly cannot do that with EA's version.
