They probably can. I didn't look. But there are plenty of them in the dive lots in Isla Paradiso. Along with Clown Fish and other fish - some that can be caught elsewhere and some that can't.
She picked up a Diver gnome just standing on the sand in the Mermaid Grotto dive lot. I decided to play again tonight. I've decided to get her up to level 8 or 9 or 10 in diving. She's almost 8 at the moment. Then I'll send her home and later on I'll decide what to do with the Isla Paradiso world. It is just that I discovered an island with her and that means I can't get another Sim it find all of the islands later on if I don't remove this world. It is something I haven't tested before so the info may not be in the nhd file or ExportDB file. I'll find out whenever I decided to set up a group of Sims in the world.
