If the problem happened at the time ITF was released and if you had the cumulative super manual patch that immediately preceeded the ITF patch that caused the problem (if it did cause the problem) then you probably could do that. But if your base game is after Sept 2012 or you have to install digital downloads of anything from Origin then you'll get 1.69 regardless of what you try.
So, *IF* someone would only install the basegame and IP but nothing else, and would skip patching all together, assuming the problem is on the players' side, it could work, right? (Think again, I rather think though that it's a server based problem, or such)
Since we can't do it anyway it is just a guessing game.
But if you didn't patch at all and added IP you wouldn't be able to do anything as there was a patch before IP was released to enable all sorts of things that came with IP. You'd need the cumulative manual super patch that came out just before IP was released.
Well, the more we speculate about it, the moe I get geunuinely curious about it... If Id both have A LOT of time at hand, a much larger download limit, and another computer (to use as the guinea pig), then I would give it a try...
