Can NHD files be Safely Deleted from Save Folder?

@Jed_Bartlet_02, I believe it is safe to do so, though I have not tried myself.
See here All the Uni Sims are old where @igazor makes a similar suggestion as a means of resetting the University World when all the Sims there have gotten old when sending a new generation there.
He doesn't mention the related package file though. I guess the best thing to do is make a backup copy of the game before trying and see if the game still loads correctly.

Another option would be to use the Save Cleaner on that save and see how much it cuts down the Oasis Landing file size. Mine only 34 MB, but aside from traveling there haven't done any of the adventures or changed the time line. You might get the file size down to a reasonable number.

Generally speaking, nhd files and the accompanying export package files are safe to delete. But any relationships with sims who live in those worlds will be gone as the sims who lived there will no longer ever have existed. A new world will spawn the next time you attempt travel there. I don't actually know if there are any special considerations for Oasis (probably not) as I don't play ITF.

But the best way to proceed, if you really want to dump the nhd file, is to give it a try on a copy of your game save. If unwanted or unexpected things happen, you can always dump it and return to where you were in gameplay.

A 2.4GB game? Good grief... Do your Sims do a lot of travelling?

I only really play one game (not counting test games that aren't intended to last long). It's multi-generational, I play many households in roation, and it's currently carrying 15 worlds courtesy of the NRaas Traveler mod -- the largest single nhd file is 305 MB. So the short answer to your question is that my sims and I are downright addicted to traveling. :)

That gives me hope for my game in Dragon Valley. It is only 85 MB so far and I haven't cleaned it for ages.

I have Reset the whole town a couple of times now and that seems to be making it run better every time. I'm also discovering more stuff in their inventories that I thought should be there but it wasn't visible before. So that's interesting.

Hello, sorry for other question here. Looks like you're playing many households in rotation. I had to stop rotation playing because of the needs bar stuck bug. For examples, if I make active B family after playing A family, B family's energy bar and witch power bar are stuck, energy bar is fully filled and never goes down and the witch power bar is stuck in the middle and can't do some spells. I used to play 8 households in rotation but now I'm afraid of making active other household. Do you maybe have any good tip for this?

I do not have this issue, but it's possible that the variant of a mod I use by Buzzler took care of it so long ago that I'd forgotten that bug was still there.

I use the "Hot" version, not the "Painful" one. Be warned that doing so changes gameplay dramatically, every little +/-5pt moodlet becomes much more significant when trying to keep active sims' moods elevated. The "Mild" one might be what more players want.

I also think that when we talk about Rotational Play, that doesn't mean the same thing to all players. I rotate active play through 5 different homeworlds, the actual number subject to change over time. Within each of those worlds, I rotate active play through 2-10 households by leveraging NRaas StoryProgression caste options.

But that doesn't mean I'm switching active households frequently, or at all, within each game session. To me, a full rotation through each household is 2 sim weeks. Some households I will spend less sim time on, others I will hover over for longer. But those rotations usually take me many days to play, sometimes a couple of real time weeks or longer depending on how much simming time I get and what else I'm working on in that world. So a rotation into the next household comes along real time days/weeks later, not several times within the same game session. And will likely be somewhat closely followed by a Save As, Quit (to Desktop), and Reload anyway.

There are times I have switched through active households in more rapid succession though, usually on a quest to fix something or a bunch of somethings in a row. The active switches must be non-Dream Catching for me to want to resume "normal" (for me) play after doing so. I never switch households on the fly just to issue a command to an inactive who is misbehaving themselves then switch back again unless I really have no other choice. If I want to snoop deep into an inactive household to answer some questions about what they are really up to and how they feel about each other, etc., I might do so at the end of a play session after having saved and then quit without saving again after finding out whatever I was looking for.

You know the truly annoying thing about rotational play is that the LTW counter resets. It's like a firefighter needs to save #x of sims, and everytime I switch (which is all the time) the counter resets and he starts from 0. As it is now I have to manually remember the counter to re-add it with MC.

I rotate households, and I do get this bug. Resetsim command takes care of it for me every time.
