- And just why in the world would you WANT a raccoon? You wouldn't keep one as a pet in real life, so why on the sims? Can you say RABIES?
- Raccoon is a wild animal, something that really isn't meant to have as a household pet. It's kind of like trying to have a tiger or something as a pet, you just don't do it.

Right. And by the way, along with this point, I absolutely LOATHE people that think it's cool to own a wild animal. It's cruelty people, grow up and smell the coffee, WILD ANIMALS ARE NOT DOMESTICATED PETS!!!

There ARE people that keep raccoons as pets in real life. Second of all, it's SIMS! Why NOT have a raccoon as a pet? I most certainly wouldn't ever walk my dog on a flexi leash irl, but my simself does. Lol! And a lot of my sims are super big players, and I most certainly would NEVER woohoo with everybody in the neighborhood in real life cuz, can we say std's? So why not have simraccoon as a pet?
Its just not right. There are strays all over the town that need homes and YOU want a filthy RACCOON? :roll:LadyElfie wrote:

It's not right to have a wildlife creature in a home, it just isn't. I want you to go adopt something along the lines of a lion, tiger, or maybe a wildcat. Tell me how long you live with all limbs.
Their are laws against capturing and keep wildlife in some states, if not all of them. I'm sure EA doesn't want to have PETA knocking at their office either.Liltab1121 wrote:

I wouldn't tell anybody to adopt any of those as pets irl. I happen to work in a petshop. In fact I ENCOURAGE ADOPTION, and most of my pets in real life ARE rescues. It's just, this is a game. I will never have a raccoon or a unicorn, or a tiger as a pet in real life, but what's so wrong about having that desire fulfilled in a game? I play the game to live the fantasy, not to be confined by the rules and restrictions of real life.
So in your wildest fantasy you own a raccoon?     :lol:SimChick1016 wrote:

actually yes you would in RL, we had 2 racoons when i was a child. My dad brought home from the forest when they accidently killed the mom, in a tree cutting. They are halarious and fun to have around. Sorta wish they would have them in the sims as a say rare pet to capture.
o and as for the laws of the types of pets you all are talking about, where i live if you get a permit now, you can own those pets. Of course the lions/tigers, etc, have no fangs, and no claws. and the cost to feed them is herendous, for instance 2000 a month in raw meat. give or take a few thousand.
as for other states i don't know their laws.
Back when i was a youngun, about 22 they were giving away panthers at the zoo, only requirement to adopt them was the ability to feed them, since they took alot of raw meat to do so.LadyElfie wrote:

You aren't being confined by anything. But, this is a simulation of real life. And whether or not you agree with it, there still are boundaries. In TS3, a raccoon is considered a wildlife creature, just as it is in real life. Accept it or not, but you can't and will never be able to have a raccoon as a domestic pet.
Just because this game does have a fantasy/mythical side to it, doesn't mean that it has to oppose everything that happens or that is accepted in the real world. I actually rather it be that way.
You're probably just mad because the dang raccoon keeps knocking over your trash cans.
