I wouldn't tell anybody to adopt any of those as pets irl. I happen to work in a petshop. In fact I ENCOURAGE ADOPTION, and most of my pets in real life ARE rescues. It's just, this is a game. I will never have a raccoon or a unicorn, or a tiger as a pet in real life, but what's so wrong about having that desire fulfilled in a game? I play the game to live the fantasy, not to be confined by the rules and restrictions of real life.
You aren't being confined by anything. But, this is a simulation of real life. And whether or not you agree with it, there still are boundaries. In TS3, a raccoon is considered a wildlife creature, just as it is in real life. Accept it or not, but you can't and will never be able to have a raccoon as a domestic pet.
Just because this game does have a fantasy/mythical side to it, doesn't mean that it has to oppose everything that happens or that is accepted in the real world. I actually rather it be that way.
You're PROBABLY just mad because the dang raccoon keeps knocking over your trash cans.
Who said I was mad?
Before you respond to my posts, feel free to read them correctly and thoroughly.

You're probably just mad because the dang raccoon keeps knocking over your trash cans.
Raccoon never knocked over my trash can, just walked by my sim house. As for wild animals. As a kid, I always dreamed of owning a wild animal as a pet. As most state laws require permits, I do not own one. I would like to someday own something called a Fennec Fox. You can find you tube videos of them playing with people's cats. Quite cute.
As I said, by clicking and saving the skin into my bins folder in CAS using testingcheatsenabled true, there is a possibility someone could come out with a mod that would allow you to have a raccoon as a pet. We shall see. I just think it would be interesting for one to be friends with my cat.- I have quite a few people that have raccoons as pets. I have no trouble with people owning wild animals as long as they're cared for properly, and many times this means having adequate enclosures built for them.
- It's really just a matter of difference of opinions. I don't mind that people do own them. I just don't agree with it, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks the same as I do, or I hope not haha.

My cat has started to play with the raccoon. My person tried petting and got bit. Is there a way to get the raccoon as a pet?
In the next few weeks, there'll probably be a mod for that. :wink:SugarMagic wrote:
You can't get one by adopting them from the wild, but have you seen this one on the exchange?
BRose87's Raccoon : http://www.thesims3.com/assetDetail.html?assetId=4650787
I am sure this one meows. The one in game actually makes the noise of a raccoon. Should be interesting if a mod does come out. :)redirishrose2005 wrote:

not strictly speaking... i wouldn't be surprised if a mod appeared allowing it.LadyElfie wrote:
I've never downloaded a mod though I hear there's some cool ones. Do they mess your game up, or enhance it?
Some mods are pretty cool. Some will mess up your game. You have to choose wisely and always use one that has been tested and approved by many other sims. I use a no mosaic mod, a no auto tag mod (this is amazing if your sims play tag and then they continue to run wherever they go). Just got the overwatch mod, because if you have the spell book downloaded from the store, your cat's hunting skill wont increase. Overwatch fixes this bug.- Well, I'm sure you can keep it as a minor pet if you trap it, right?
