I just wanted to ask if you plan on uploading the complete version with mods. Or did you upload it already and I can't find the link. Don't want to bother you, I'm just asking. If you're still working on it, just take your time.
Thanks again for this lovely world!
Yes! It's uploaded and in my studio. Here is the link: http://www.thesims3.com/assetDetail.html?assetId=8331022
The mods are not included, you need to get the rabbithole rugs separately from Siml3gacies. Details are in the first post of this thread. :D
Oh, thank you for posting the link Dizzy! :D

I'm building up my courage for Ultimate Careers. I think it will be fun, just new and different.
Thank you, Cinderelli, for giving my some real motivation with your delightful village. :)
Edit to add: Ok. It's all in place. I'm going in.
I'm a bit poorly today so I'm not reading things very clearly. I read 'delightful' and 'dreadful'!
I'd say do a bit of test run with the UC mod if you've never used it before. It can take a bit of patience to set up and get it working the way you want it to. But it's well worth the time! :D

hee hee!! Honestly you had me at "Hi my name is Cinderellimouse and here is the world I've been talking about for the last couple years"!!!!!
:P
Been exploring user made worlds lately and er a bit tempted to try making my own but er I'll probably die of frustration before getting very far. Plus, it seems seriously freaking difficult. So I'm impressed with anybody who manages to finish one. ANYWAY -- just last night started wondering about YOUR world Cinderellimouse and a bit sad that you didn't feel comfortable sharing. VERY glad you did and I'll surely have fun exploring it!! Thank you so much!!
Sticky! *hugs* I haven't seen you in a little while. :D
This isn't my 'everything' world I've been sharing pics of for ages. Honestly, it isn't in any kind of sharable state!
What I found was that I really enjoyed using Zerbu's mod and I wanted to build a world with that in mind. I also wanted a British countryside world. Basically I was really stressed with my course last year and I kept dipping into CAW because it loads easily and helps me to calm down and focus when I'm stressed. So I had quite a lot of the world made already.
It didn't look promising that the store team would be making any more worlds, and since a lot of people had been requesting a traditional British countryside/village world, I knew I wanted to share it and to make it as accessible as possible.
I'd already built about half the world when they announced the old mill and tea set, and so I sped up my building to get it finished in time for that set's release, since I figured people would want a world that suits the set!
And I wouldn't call it 'finished' exactly because I don't think I'll ever completely finish a world! I'm always building, improving and moving things. But another thing I wanted to do with this world was leave space for the player to add their own touches.
I built this world for myself too! And I want my sims to develop the town as I play. I want my sims in the political career to have to add public facilities. So the central park is a bit bare, as I wanted to add stuff over time. And the university buildings are quite run-down looking, some of my sims are trying to improve the education opportunities in the town so it's their mission to work on improving those buildings. The teenagers in the town are my 'core' sims who I always play with. After they have been to uni they will start to utilise their skills and open more shops and businesses. For example, Kyra Baker is an arts and crafts sim who is really into fashion and design. My plan for her is that she will 'recover' old furniture from skips and the junk yard and then I'll use CASt on them to pretend she had repurposed it. Then she'll open a second-hand furniture shop. :D
I'm waffling again aren't I!?
Anyhoo... don't be scared of CAW. Just don't expect to make Utopia the first time you use it. My first few attempts were laughable! It's hard to get the proportions right at first. But it is very rewarding and I enjoy it a lot.

Hi Cinderelli! I just want to shaky your hand...how did you ever stay so organized to know what you included in each version of your world? I was very dissapointed to see that when I uploaded my world for testing the exchange only listed the base game! You do seem very well organized and that is amazing to me because clearly you are the creative type and when I get creative I become very disorganized! Any suggestion how I can make such a nice list of items used in my world?
I honestly felt very disorganised when building this world! It was so hard keeping track of what is in each version!
Basically what I did was generate a new The Sims 3 folder specifically for the world. I do this for all worlds I build. Then I ONLY installed Midnight Hollow Gold and Dragon Valley. That way I knew that the 'light' world could only be built using the expansions, stuff packs, and those two worlds.
Then once I'd built and exported the light versions I downloaded whatever store content I thought I'd use. Then I went back into the world and added all the 'missing' lots, and updated the other lots with whatever I thought of. So when it came to list the content for the 'complete' versions I just opened the 'downloads' tab on the launcher and listed what was there.
Then for the modded versions I only had to add the rabbithole rugs to the list, which are all hosted at simsl3gacies.
I was also very disappointed to realise that only the base game is listed under required content on the upload page. I do worry because people will see that and download the world without having the necessary items and everything will be all corrupted for them. :? It's not very good really. I hope they fix that issue soon. :?
To people who have the sauna!
If you locate the open spa/pool (next to the church), this is the room I intended to put the sauna in, to the right of the reception desk:

It's easy to delete the items in the room and pop the sauna in. I did not need to use the 'moveobjects on' cheat. The toilet can stay or be replaced by a shower!
