OOF. That’s definitely an efficient way to farm LTH points! And too funny with children and teens regularly popping up potential/unlocked LTWs where the parameters are already met. Like, "Ma, IDK what huge lifelong goal I just accomplished, but I'mma be stoked about it all week!" :joy:
 To be fair, the kids will know what happened. It was their wish after all. And I'm sure they are happy about being popular and famous, too. It's me who often doesn't know. I guess I don't have to know everything about them  .

I've never tried Dreamer. I just use MC to manually change LTWs once a Sim has completed the first one I’d chosen for them. I don’t do this for every Sim I play. But for those who have a variety of traits/skills/hobbies where it would make sense for them to pursue disparate long-term goals, or where their initial LTW complements or could lead to another one, it's a great option to have.
Dreamer is quite nice. It lets inactives fulfill their wishes. As I play rotationally, it's quite satisfying to find the occasional townie who actually collected a few points from having their dreams come true. I'll keep it at a minimum though. The game collects already enough stuff in its saves. - quixotictigerNew Spectator

I decided to change my sim's lifetime wish from Star News Anchor (about medium difficulty, but she had kids to raise) to Super Popular (which is really easy). She completed her wish on her elder birthday! :)
Sounds like a great birthday! Congrats! :star:"Turjan;c-17419738" wrote:

Haha, could be. Although I guess I’ve always viewed unpromised wishes as random, fleeting thoughts until they’re locked in/chosen. For me, that’s when it truly becomes a want/goal to be deliberately pursued. Either way, perhaps it would be more accurate to say, “I wish to be Super Popular someday... Oh, I already am? I am! Yay me!”"Turjan;c-17419738" wrote:

:open_mouth: Perish the thought! I’d be all like, “Where is that music coming from? Why are you suddenly so stinking happy? What did you do, Sim_Name??”"Turjan;c-17419738" wrote:

I like the idea of inactives fulfilling wishes on their own. But then I'd want to use that for the whole town and my game would probably explode, lol. And too, in saves where I rotate households (which tend to be extended family and/or my own CAS Sims), I prefer to choose what they do as part of the storyline and help them work towards their goals myself. I use no SP either, and progress unplayed inactives with MC.
The part I would probably find most useful about Dreamer is when all four slots already hold promised wishes and another pops up that I would normally lock in, but the Sim will complete it or it will time out before any of the others could be fulfilled. That would be handy. - UlanDhorSeasoned Rookie@starguru Yes, it's very taxing for the game if you do it for everyone. I should probably try this one day in a very small town.
Regarding Dreamer and LTW's, I just had the most extreme example yesterday, when I made a household of 9 unrelated sims from the bin. The game had been running only a few seconds during initialization of the mods and was paused. I brought the relationship values within the group up via MC because I wanted to test something, and as soon as I unpaused the game, the music came up, and one of the sims fulfilled a lifetime wish and two other wants in one fell swoop. That's a way to start a game (well, I won't be playing this, but nevertheless  )! Then again, that won't happen if you play by the rules. - I would like to point out here in case clarification is needed that the Dreamer mod is not taxing on the game at all. What is taxing is when "too many" (a number difficult to define) dream catching household switches are used, thus leaving Dream Managers running on inactive households. That's a function of how the switch was done and which mods were used (MasterController, StoryProgression, Selector, Mover, PortraitPanel) to negotiate the switch. We can see and remove running Dream Managers by way of MasterController once we feel there are too many and game performance is being impaired. But the Dreamer mod is not the one that causes this effect, it will happen with or without Dreamer in place.
- Lucy_HenleyNew SpectatorI selected “almost always”. It’s a part of gameplay for me. I enjoy purchasing lifetime rewards such as the Collection Helper, the Motive Mobile and the Moodlet Manager (plus useful lower-cost ones such as Observant, Legendary Host and skill ones). Plus, the more lifetime happiness points your Sims get, the better gravestone they get; small plaque on the ground for if they die before achieving 75,000 LHP, the medium headstone for between 75,000 and 149,999 LHP and the obelisk for 150,000+ points.
- @mw1525 I’ve decided to try this to some extent. I gave my charismatic virtuoso Golden Tongue, Golden Fingers instead of the usual Rock Star. He’s already at level 7 of the music career, but he still has a ways to go with his lifetime wish.
@Lucy_Henley It’s been a goal of mine to get the obelisk, but it’s difficult on normal lifespan. With my current elders, I’m definitely getting the headstone.
@JoBass24us My sims usually get a negative trait anyways because I rarely get to choose all 5 traits. For example, one of my sims ended up with the grumpy trait because she had bad grades. - quixotictigerNew Spectator@Turjan Nothing like beating the game at the very beginning! (Not that I consider most TS games “completable” in that sense, but the achievement of a lifetime wish is probably the most comparable objective.)
The closest thing I’ve had happen to that was in a test save of my own. I had moved some Sims into a house I’d built and intended to use them for route-testing, handiness upgrades, etc. Shortly after entering the home I heard the music start playing. Turns out that one of the Sims’ LTWs—IIRC, it was Swimming in Cash—had triggered. It made sense in retrospect, but I was startled at the time, lol.
Thanks for the explanation, @igazor, and apologies if something I said was unclear or incorrect. "starguru;c-17420726" wrote:

Oh no, no apologies necessary at all. The mod does cause a fair amount of confusion among players because they associate Dreamer with Dream Catching household switches when it's really other mods that provide those. But the mod actually helps the game in the sense that it catches dream related errors and deals with them in many cases whereas otherwise ErrorTrap might start producing error logs that make little sense to the player at first.
Anyway, without actual too easy to satisfy anyway LTWs being surprise-triggered, the amount of Happiness points I usually see gained by inactives when their Dream Managers are off isn't much. Maybe a few hundred now and then? But anything is better than seeing a big fat zero on that score when I check to see if a sim I've never really played seems to be happy with their life or not. :)- mw1525Seasoned Newcomer@Simtown15 - Good Luck to your musician. Be prepared for extreme popularity. My most successful musician (to date) has this LTW. You may want to consider using some LTR points to purchase the 'Long Distance Friend' reward to help make maintaining all of their friendships more manageable. If you want to save the points, just accomplish the 'Super Friendly' charisma challenge it does basically the same thing.
If there is anyone out there who would like to try the Police Officer with the 'Jack of All Trades' LTW (Reach level 5 in four different careers), be certain to have your Sim join Law Enforcement as the last career (and then choose whichever branch you want them to be in after level 5 - Special Agent or Forensic Analyst ;)) When I play this combination, I consider the first three careers as sort of a rookie 'undercover' or 'investigative' assignments. - Rflong7Rising VanguardYes, I always work on them.
