Also I noticed the minimum specs is 4G RAM so it seems to mean that it is not just restricted to 2G RAM anymore !
We certainly hope that awful draconian restriction will be lifted. But that requirement is for total system RAM, so the bump in requirements doesn't actually imply anything about how much the game will be able to use. You can't run a program that wants 2 GB of RAM on a system that has 2 GB of RAM because the OS and other systems need to run too. For how far we will actually be able to take things, we are waiting and watching, ever hopeful for some pleasant surprises. :)- So it will be out tomorrow ! But I still can’t see the metal version on my origin only the old one. Is it because I am running high Sierra??
- @jimbbq It has nothing to do with the OS you're running; even Windows players are seeing the 64-bit version in their Origin libraries. Check on origin.com just to make sure the issue isn't your Origin app.
It's also possible that your copy of the 64-bit version hasn't been added to your account yet. Someone from EA posted yesterday afternoon that the "entitlements" hadn't finished rolling out yet and that EA was aware a large number of players were still missing packs.

Having said that, if you still don't see the new version in your game library by tomorrow (Wednesday), please post in that thread so someone official can take a look. If your Origin ID is different than the one you use to post, list that too.
It's also a good idea to check the the specs of your Mac against the requirements of the 64-bit version. Not all Macs that run High Sierra support Metal, and some Metal Macs are under the minimum reqs, although they may still be able to run the game on lower settings. You can find the minimum and recommended specs here:

- Is anyone able to download the game yet? Mine hasn’t even appeared on my origin app yet.
- @jimbbq The game is now downloadable. If you're not seeing the 64-bit version in Origin, please contact EA customer support for help.

https://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/982933/64-bit-sims-3-for-macos-is-now-available - Is anyone playing the 64 bit version and how is it?? I'm curious because I have an older macbook pro (2008) using El Capitan and I'm not sure if I should download the new 64 bit version since I think my system runs on a 32 bit overall. I would love if my game ran faster since it sounds like the 64 bit is configured for Mac while the older version was like a PC version that was Mac-compatible. Would love to know if there's anyone running the 64 bit version on an older Mac system.

You can check here all about the 64 bit version. I don’t want to recommend it yet. - @emilyofspielburg - In case you are still looking for this, the 64-bit version requires High Sierra or higher for an operating system and a Mac that supports the Metal API. I'm afraid that a 2008 Macbook Pro is not going to be able to run this version. The first MacBook Pros that were Metal capable were released to market in 2012.

Maybe it's time to upgrade to a newer computer but this one is still kicking so I'm hanging onto it until the wheels fall off.
