I don't play at all - I'm just setting up pictures to illustrate my story! :D
Probably what I should've said!
But I was focusing more on what I do when I actually play! ;)
@emorrill and @jillbg , I should have said this too...there is really no playtime when setting up shots for a story. ;)
I'm a control freak and I do admit it. I am trying to let them have a bit of leeway at times, just to see what they will do. I usually will have the others in the household either at work or doing something that will keep them busy and out of trouble for a few hours, so I can watch the one or two that I'm letting free like a hawk hovering over his prey.- Demetrius76058 years agoSeasoned Ace

Recently, I have to say with a lot of praying that my game won't crash and I don't pray. I don't know if it's my mods that are too old or if I once again unknowingly did something to cause the crashing. I don't want to go back to sims 4, (it's bored me for a while and I can't justify paying $40 for the new expansion), but with all of the crashing recently and it's frequent like before I broke down and added Nraas to my game, I might have to.
Windows update?
My game has been acting like a loon since the big windows update. Crash to desktop, no warning. - Rflong78 years agoLegendIt's not quite Every action but it might as well be.
I've tried for ages to break this habit but I can't... I CAN'T. - lol @Charlottesmom And to make things worse, my work / play computer decided to expire! >:) I'm trying to make it work, so I can at least save some pictures and workfiles... :s
- Glenduil8 years agoNew SpectatorAll my Sims can easily take care of themselves.
Since I don't have box stalls, my Unicorn can fill up her own needs (box stalls require a LOT of hands on and it takes sooooo long to get them in and out)
My cat is independent and so he doesn't need a lot of attention.
My two Sims (thanks to the lifetime rewards) can keep themselves filled up pretty well. All my Sims (and pets) have Steel Bladder, Hardly Hungry, Dirt Defiant, and a whole slew of others.
So I only interfere when they each need to take care of something. Thus, none of my Sims suffer when I'm focusing on another. It makes my game so much more enjoyable! - NikkeiSimmer8 years agoLegendIf I let my sims do whatever they wanted, they'd never achieve their LTG. As it is I'm usually yelling at them, "NO YOU DON'T NEED TO GO TO THE MARTIAL ARTS ROOM TO BREAK MORE SPACE ROCKS. YOU'VE LITTERED UP THE ROOM ENOUGH." or "Oh...and just what bright idea is it that makes you pull out your electric piano RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE COTTON-PICKIN' FRIDGE SO THAT NONE OF THE OTHER SIMS CAN EAT!!!!?"
Yeah, if I didn't control each and every single part of my sims' day, they'd drive me bug-frickin' nuts. - Bettyboop558 years agoSeasoned AceI move from sim to sim in a household setting up their activity queues. Then I watch them all being busy, pause the game and repeat. Gives me time to plan out the story and manage large households. It doesn't always work though :D not with high free will switched on but that's part of the fun for me. If left totally to their own devices I find them missing work, skipping school, leaving homework and constantly using the ice cream maker and deep fat fryer. They simply can't look after themselves properly :|
- I bounce around every household in my town. I usually customize my worlds heavily including lots of CAW building so I don't really like random townies. I use twallen's mods also. I make five or so huge families with several generations spread around the world, usually 3 or 4 households per family name. (I start with grandparents as adults with young adult children all married, then move each family out and make them have kids). And then I watch them intermingle with each other as I go to each family. I know this probably sounds bad but I love to make each family a certain skin color (sometimes alien) or certain characteristics, and after a few generations it is fun to see how the town has evolved and who has married who and what traits have survived. I also set the story progression mod (I think thats the one) to use hyphenated names upon marriage so I can better keep up with who marries who. Sadly the worlds usually get pretty big and laggy this way. But I really enjoy watching my town as a community interacting and growing. That, for me, is what sims 3 is so good at.
- 682079d3d593fd238 years agoSeasoned AceI would say I lean more towards control of every action, though it's not quite that bad. With so many Sims in one household, it would take too long to play if I had to manage all of them 100% lol.
The bigger things I will control a bit more, but I can't watch each one 24/7 ha.
And the pets of course, I leave on high free will; I only step in when I need to.
Guess I should have voted "Other"
