- Life span default of 90 days but
baby 2 days
toddler 5 days
child 7 days
teen 14 days
Yadult 28 days
adult 27 days
elder 7 days
Seasons depends on the town.
Hidden Springs I wanted long winters so shortened every other season to the shortest and left winter as is.
Twinbrook is somewhat based on New Orleans so next time I play there, no winter and short fall. - I leave the lifespan pretty much at default, but set the moon to a non-full stage 'cause I don't want zombies in my game. I have fall and spring longer than winter and summer, since those are my fave seasons in real life.
- cmbaker1611 years agoSeasoned Acehmm...my lifespan is default except babies last a day and elders are on 2-3days. For Seasons I have all four on default but have things like hail and snow turned off (will probably turn snow back on though now that I'm not in Isla Paradiso.)...Moon cycle is set to New Moon ( I think)...I don't care for the Zombies coming out so just keep the moon on one phase though can be annoying if your playing a fairy as their always looking for moonlight.
- I use epic lifespan (I love long lives) but have baby at 3 days, toddler at 50, child at 100 and all others maxed out. (I do sometimes age up prematurely though depending on how I'm playing). I play seasons differently depending on the town, no snow or winter in places like Isla Paradiso but in other place I ten to do 3 days winter, 5 days Spring and Autumn and 10-20 days Summer.
Edit: And moon to any singular lunar phase :) - I play the epic lifespan with the babies @3 days, toddlers @7 days, children @15 days, teens @30 days, young adults @170 days, adults @170 days and the elderly @120 days. The moon phase I have set to 7 days and I play all the seasons @30 days each.
- Wow @TadOlson your lifespans are very long! I used to play on Long and have time slowed down by half with Relativity! Now I get bored if things don't move a little quicker. :)
I usually play on Normal and my settings are as follows:
Baby- 2
Toddler- 5
Child-8
Teen-15
YA-26
Adult-32
Elder-12
Other saves I have I use different settings depending on how I want to play, but the one thing I always do is make sure that the kids are not YA as the same time as their parents. So with the above settings it takes 30 days to grow to YA, and YA span is only 26 so I'm guaranteed that parents will be Adults when their children are grown.
Hmm I'm not sure what my weather settings are exactly in all my saves but usually I set Summer to be the longest and Winter the shortest, Fall and Spring are the same length. I only recently turned the moon cycle back on, I go back and forth on that.
@cmbaker16 for your fairies you should set your single lunar phase to something other than new moon. They don't get the negative moodlet for any other phase except that one, it doesn't have to be full moon for them to benefit from moonlight. :) - My settings depend on the scenario that I am playing and if I get board with one theme, I change to a different saved game with a different theme. For the most part I have aging turned off. I play my family tree in one world and started with my great grand parents and cycled through the generations of relatives and only turned aging on when I wanted them to age and have a party.
I set weather, I set Winter to the lowest setting and the other seasons to maximum settings. I will only change them if I want to play a Winter or Summer themed scenario.
The only time I use the Lunar Cycle is if I am playing a Medieval themed scenario. - Roxas9511 years agoSeasoned VeteranI played on short lives :D I'm just too impatient to wait for my sims to grow up :D
And season were always on the shortest and Lunar Cycle in 10 days - My settings are:
-Babies: 3 days
-Toddlers: 7 days
-Children: 10 days
-Teens: 15 days
-Young Adults: 30 days
-Adults: 30 days
-Elders: 25 days
Total: 120 days. Sometimes I disable aging.
For seasons I set every season 14 days but I change them according to world I'm playing. For example Isla Paradiso is all summer (yay!).
Unless I'm playing in Moonlight Falls, I set moon phase to Waxing Crescent. Zombies rising from my sims backyard at Sunset Valley really destroys my story.
You didn't ask but my population settings are
-Enable story progression
-Allow pets
-Opt. household out of celebrity system
-Don't allow celebrities
-Don't allow supernaturals (unless in Moonlight Falls again.)
But one thing bothers me is you can't turn off mermaids. If your story progression is enabled game will populate mermaids. Only way to prevent it is to disable story progression. - ^ unless you are in with modding. I'm sure that there is a mod out there that allowed you to disable mermaids. I don't know of one but you can try looking, modthesims maybe
I tend to enabled story progression also but allow celebrities. My thoughts on Supernaturals changes all the time! :P
