- My Sim and his wife had a couple over at their house, and the girl started flirting with the wife right in front of her husband.
- Weird, most of my sims are straight. I've got a couple of townies that are gay and they're already in a relationship and very monogamous- even had one male sim slap another male when he flirted, then when I checked out the household he had a boyfriend.
Maybe it's cos you have free will on high or something? I've never heard of sims being romantic at work either. - I think a built in slider or "preference" option would really be best here, I don't think those who want, or don't mind autonomous homosexual relationships should be forced to download a mod to enable it (as if homosexuality is somehow more "deviant" in the game than heterosexual *rollseyes*), any more than I think people who don't want their active sims engaging in sexual activity or relationships opposed to their preference (If they have one) should be "forced" into it.
Now, with that being said, I definitely don't think sims in the active household should be getting into autonomous relationships with ANYONE, regardless of gender. It should be 100% player initiated for anything past flirting. Kalphoenix wrote:

Then why don't you just turn off free will or turn it to low? I don't understand what your complaint is here... of course your Sims will live their life on high free will, which may or may not include relationships.- gameking95173New Spectator

I've fallen victim to making my sims' lives dramatic with some affairs. But when I do decide to have a committed relationship, the constant letters can be annoying. Although I can't complain about the free gifts ;)

According to what I've read on the Sims Wikia pages, all Sims are "born" bisexual to make the game more realistic. Ever hear of the Kinsey Scale?
It was invented by a scientist who believes all humans are born bisexual to some degree and that's why beersexuals (people get drunk and have flings with people of the same sex) and stuff like that exist, even though some people are unaware of their bisexual tendencies.
Anyway, according to what I've read all Sims are "born" bisexual, but get a preference after they experience their very first kiss.
To fix it, I wouldn't go so far as to get a mod or anything, especially considering the SP and MC mods can make your game lag REALLY bad if your computer isn't fast enough. I would just lower your Free Will to Low, but that's just me.
This isn't true. Using Twallan's SP, you can easily see who is hetero/bi/gay when you click on City Hall. Most (usually 90%, as default is about that) are hetero, NOT bi. This is why you can't apply everything we learned in high school to the game...- This is simple. Sims will date, marry, or flirt with whomever you tell them to. If you don't want your sim to have a homosexual relationship, then, ignore that wish and have him flirt with female sims. The end.
Sims do what you tell them to do. You don't have to fulfill their wishes if you don't want to. MinDtriKz wrote:

Under EA Standard, gender preference is only set :
By the story progression system, when two undecided sims are chosen to be coupled
When the user performs a user-directed romantic interaction
Because of this, sims can remain undecided for the entirety of their lifespan.
If you are using Story Progression then the settings alter EA's gender preference system.- Maybe you can download a Michele Bachmann sim from the exchange. I hear her husband runs a clinic for that sort of thing. Though I guess the efficacy ratings aren't that great...
