- Being homeless in TS3 is good as you can also send your Sims to use the showers at the local gym or send them to the library to build up skills so rags to riches is possible

Yupp, and to add to that can rummage through trash cans and dumpsters. You can have a fire pit and catch fish to cook on it.Pretty much can live off the land even if you have a home only big enough for a sleeping bag.And there are tents also.- And even if your bank account is zeroed out, you can go to the park and pick some apples to eat. Or if you're in Riverview, you can, um, *borrow* whatever produce the Carpenter-Rhodes household happens to have available that day. My sim can make a couple hundred bucks there on a good day, especially if the garlic plants are cooperating.
But the best thing of all about TS3 is that you can do everything listed with multiple sims at the same time. No loading screens or sequestered neighborhoods means you can flip back and forth between one sim who's harvesting and another who's dumpster diving, or even (if you're a glutton for punishment) to a kid running around on a bike collecting rocks. - Edit: Wanted to mention sims 3 also offers one of the best traits and interactions for homeless sims.
MOOCH!!!! A lot of simmers do not even realize It is a skill with levels. You can ask sims for food or money and even mooch from a sims fridge. At higher level skill the moochers can ask for higher amount of money.
You can be true to RL homeless in your game bumming money from sims and food - @CravenLestat Food is certainly no problem in TS3. If you have the fire station you can sleep in that unless you want to build your own community lot. You could actually build a massive house and convert it to a community lot with all expensive items. You won't have much of a kitchen but BBQs can take the place of the oven. The Sims 3 makes it too easy sometimes. Try doing that in TS1 or TS2!
- @king_of_simcity7 It is how I start my games catching fish which is free and cooking them on a fire pit.Sims 3 is such a great game.AGREED <3
Note that fire pits are portable meaning you can even catch your fish on the beach and cook it right there.
This was me starting my game poor as always cooking fish I caught. Both chairs were found dumpster diving.

Mmmm delicious...my sims face thinks otherwise :# In RL do not eat seafood though but do love fishing - @CravenLestat Is there any way to get a "nice meal"-type of moodlet from grilling something over the fire pit? I've been having one of my sims do this with the useless perfect small fish he's caught, and he gets nothing for his efforts but a full hunger bar.
- @puzzlezaddict Never paid attention honestly,I just eat them and cringe cause do not eat it in RL.But if your sim is poor gotta do what ya gotta do.And eating goldfish or grilling snails you can do but my sim would never :s

in sims 4 for some reason they don't call mooching mooching they call it ask for lone which is dumb because they don't give you away to pay it back- @comicsforlife Yupp in 3 you can stand on the corner all day and approach sims and try to bum money or food.No paying back just true to life.Such a great trait.
