but, I want to be able to use my old already made wallpapers that I made for sims 2 in sims 3. Now I have searched the web and I have searched almost all the forums and read every tutorial out ther...

Do you still have TS2 installed?
I've used TS2 HomeCrafter Plus to get some of TS2 wallpapers/floors for TS3. Open TS2 HomeCrafter Plus, choose your pattern to edit- and I used the Print Screen key to copy the whole screen, opened Paint and pasted it on.
Cut it down to what I wanted- just the pattern and none of the rest of the screen.
Saved it as a .jpg on my desktop (it was already even in size).
Then opened up Create a Pattern and installed the pattern (clicked on Add a New Sticker). You can adjust it's size in there- up to 256x256 (it's the whole screen at that size).
Don't need any new fangled things.
