A hidden lake high in the Mountains. Sweet water, cool breezes, and an Asylum on a hill.... How will it affect the little town now that the Insane Sims are free? Will havoc rule the day? A Populated world I built to play the Asylum Challenge ~and it grew from there. All necessary Career lots including, 4 clubs, SHT venues, and Pet Store. There are 76 lots including Legacy priced lots, 22 prebuilt house, a few starters, one apartment- several empty lots.

Oh Rflong that is too sad. :( Ah well things happen. I am going to try to find the time to play the game sometime this weekend. I am looking forward to seeing my insane sim. I think I will try to follow Reggie's example though and try to keep a hands off game play. There are still other families I want to check on.

That's weird - I did not even notice. I could have sworn I saw some in one of the parks - but I haven't really gone looking for the spawners this time. I have mainly focused on pets spawning, looking for routing problems or tears or other oddities. Now I am curious... but it is too late tonight to go back in - I had mainly been working on getting my sim some income so he could build his house - when he was singing for tips I thought I saw some maybe it was whisps or something. I know I have found some seed but I hadn't even been looking for them when I spotted those. I found snakes, birds, and beetles and a chipmonk in the campground. I saw a few horses but no deer or raccoons yet. I wonder if it is just the spawners have been slowed down as I have seen a few others complaining of not finding spawners on a few other threads. In the first version I did check a few lots for spawners in buydebug and they seemed a normal amount - so I guess I just never checked since the first one you posted. I always assumed they would still be in place when ever you updated automatically.

I've played it for over a Sim week (different versions) and not one butterfly. I don't understand it myself. SSV has them/changed out Save folder/no mods- so, I'm going to redo the map to a new one. The hardest part- besides all the addresses will be the roads.

Rflong I think this must be an EA created issue. DD and I were testing alexspoom's Suburban Springs beta 2 and neither of us found any gem spawners. I'm not sure there were any bugs, either. There were some seeds and fish but not much else. He added more spawners in the beta 3 but now I am thinking this has got to be some kind of bug. :(

I know for a fact I collected a monarch butterfly at the family campgrounds,but I too did wonder about the lack of butterflies.You don't ever over do it in your worlds, but after a sim week of play I only found the one.

I understand. I didn't notice until I wanted my newest Sim to make some quick money... she was looking for gems and butterflies (which I know where they all should be) and yet no butterflies. Even on the lots, which I placed.
I got bugs and gems and little birds/animals but not one butterfly.

You did find one? But it took a week- that is strange.
LOL~I did go back into the world to check if I had them placed. They're there and on the lots... so, I'm stumped.

~If I ever make a large world that doesn't have something go wrong the first time, I'll just have to stop because it'll me a miracle. :lol:

I've reinstalled my Base Game. Reinstalled CAW... transfered my map and paint layers so it was quicker. Then transfer my layers- except for the spawners. I'm checking on butterflies before adding any lots.

That bottom picture in your above post is the only butterfly I have seen and in that exact spot.I'm still looking though.

Well YOU are right - I checked this morning about an hour and saw none - but I did finally see raccoons and deer, I'd already seen horses, cats, and dogs - I checked all the areas I thought I had seen at least the spawners and other probably places in the world - none. Saw all the small creatures - rodents, lizards, snakes, a turtle and several birds. I also thought the gems were way less than normal as I only saw two during the first session. Then tonight I went back in added a new sim - hoping maybe it might trigger something - played all night with this sims until 4 am this morning and I saw one group of 3 white looking butterflies at the nectary and two monarch butterflies at the campground. No other kind - what's more I had my sim catch one and both places and kept checking back - it took nearly a Sim two weeks for the ones at the campground to spawn again - and never saw the ones at the nectary spawn again. Unless some other sim is catching them - but I don't recall ever seeing sims I wasn't playing capturing bugs or butterflies - I have seen them go after the collectible animals and I have seen cats sometimes look like they were trying to catch butterflies, but I didn't see any of this.

One other observation I also found odd - you should check and see if it does the same thing to you too, but while I was in Edit town I put a copy of your A frame in my library so I could place it on the next door lot as I was too lazy to build a clift lot and was noticing my houses were pretty filled - just two left that I could see, so I figured I'd fill some of the empty lots and add a couple ranches too - but just after I placed the clone of your A frame onto the lot next door, all of a sudden all the roads in that area (not the whole map, just that whole island practically)just vanished. There are dirt roads in that area as well as paved - the paved ones vanished. So i went back to game to see if i could see anything live, but when I did go back live, the roads replaced the missing parts. It was downright weird.

Later on I went back to edit town it did it again, but I placed a ranch anyway across from the Equestrian Center. As soon as I placed the ranch the road came back again. After that I was not able to make it do that. Even removing the ranch didn't do it. Nothing I tried would make the road vanish again. It obviously caused no problems though that I can see anyway. I am just baffled why it did that to start with.

But besides the lack of butterflies - that is the only other oddity I am seeing. I did have a paper boy complain of routing at the assylum, but I think it was because of the gate. I have seen that from paper boys in other towns every since we've had that LN gate. They complain then they vanish - so I don't think they can walk through it or something.

Rflong as far as I know all alexspoom did was to place more spawners in the next beta. I don't think he did anything else to the map (other than to also add some more lots and fix some minor issues).

So annoying - especially since I don't think this is a problem caused by anything you did! I'm going to go ahead and install the beta though, just because I can't stand waiting any more. It's so beautiful, even without butterflies. :P I'll just have to add some myself to a few lots. :-)
