- Kita53998 years agoSeasoned AceThe only way I know how to move a family in multiple households without losing relationships, is with the NRaas porter mod. Although it's been a while since I used it, so I don't know about the whole family tree (I do believe it moves ghosts too though).
- My way (possibly not the most efficient) is to merge them all into one household with NRAAS control panel (up to 24 sims), save them to the bin and from there to the new save. ghost in the tomb format (=not playable but as tomb in sim's inventory) doesn't count in the 24, so practically if there are dead sims in your tree you can move more than 24 in that household.
I'm doint it right now with a corrupted save I have, managed to rescue the households at least. - The two more common ways are:
(a) NRaas Porter: This method preserves the relationships and history, but only of the sims who are packed together. The world they came from would then, within that timeline, no longer be playable.

(b) NRaas Traveler to move them to their new homeworld. This method keeps the original world in play and connected within the same ongoing save just like the WA worlds. All history and relationships are preserved, the player can transition active play between the two (or more) worlds, move sims between them, go back for visits, etc.

For example if you have multi generations and earlier generations have died you must have the ghosts that link the various family lines or they won't be related in the new save.
I've done it both ways @igazor suggested. At first I stuck to using Porter mod. Eventually I had too many Sims I wanted to move because no matter which world I put them in they ground it to a halt quickly due to having so many sims in the world. So I started using the Traveler mod method and now I have a Big Game with numerous worlds in it and my sims preserve their relationships, and visit each other occasionally. They also get together for family weddings and other celebrations. - SimplyJen8 years agoSeasoned AceSame as Karritz... I've tried both but with so many sims, I use the Traveler method.
- My way is to put the 8 most important in one household. In the new game I move everyone out who’s supposed to live somewhere else and in edit town I put in all the other households I saved to the bin. Then I repair the family relationships of those households using Mastercontroller. You don’t have to do that for each and everyone of them. As soon as you repair a sister-brother relationship for instance, the game understands they share the same parents.
Edit: and indeed, the household I’m going to play has the graves of the ancestors in their inventory.
