My sim is rich, but only in France

I recently started a new game in Lucky Palms. My sim Wyatt (that's him in my avi) is level 2 in the Criminal career, lives in a starter house and has less than $10,000 in the bank - he's definitely not rich.
Wyatt received a work opportunity to hand-deliver an envelope to someone in France in exchange for a raise. (Wyatt suspects the envelope contains the names of all the major European crime bosses  )

So Wyatt headed off to France for 3 days, After delivering the envelope, he spent the first 2 days doing 2 adventures
- the first one required some simple tomb exploration to retrieve a lost ball
- the second required Wyatt to find some titanium and persuade someone to hand over a computer chip.

On the third day, Wyatt excavated 2 dig sites and collected some insects. It was during the third day that I noticed that Wyatt was now 'Rich'.
I found this surprising as, even if he sold all the relics, etc that he collected, he'd still only have a total worth of about $40,000; not enough to be rich.

Wyatt has since returned home to Lucky Palms and is no longer "Rich'.

Does this mean that Ancient Coins are included in the calculation for whether a sim is 'Rich', but only in the WA vacation world?

No, ancient coins aren't included, nor are any relics or collectibles that are still in their personal or household inventory. The value of the household's home and furnishings is the most important for earning the "rich" designation. And while your sim is in a WA world, the base camp is considered to be their home. That's probably why he has the "rich" label in France.
  • You are forgetting the Simoleon to Euro conversion. Maybe 1 Simoleon is worth 10 Euros, then he would be rich there.

That's why people voted for Brexit :joy:

Politics aside, I agree with what @IreneSwift has pointed out. I suppose when your sim is travelling the game would temporarily recognise the camp base as the sim's "residence" as they would in their home world/neighbourhood; the game then takes into account the total cost of furnishing on the lot and once they exceed a certain amount your sim would be classified as "rich".

Not sure how accurate this assumption is, but I guess that explains why sims' living in dorms and sororities whilst attending Sims University are all classified as "rich". But me sending sims out posing for nude every day after lectures probably contributed to that, too xD

Wow, I'm always learning something new about this game.
I never noticed that any sims that travel or go to uni are 'rich'.
  • Then of course you could convert to RW values Ancient coins in the RW have significant value. So. He could definitely become rich in the Sims world if you utilize real-world values.

My sim and his wife were rich beyond most people’s imagining. After several encounters with some meteors that their dog found

The cheapest most common meteor in actual favt in the RE is actually the most expensive. If you have a lunar meteor, of some substatial weight you’re rolling in simoleons.
