Nraas Vector Question

Hiya

Once you've enabled a disease in a save can you disable it with no issue?

Currently I have the two minor diseases and llama pox enabled and while I imagine I could handle it with one or two sims I decided I can't with 8 :p I kind of want to kill them all. The child daughter brought it home from school and next thing I know her, the triplet toddlers, both parents, and the aunt and uncle that live with them all have llama pox at the same time. It's just too much :p I know I could just inoculate them since they're rich but I think I'd rather just disable the disease if I can.

Or is it stuck in this save now?
  • To disable/stop the disease from spreading any further:
On City Hall, NRaas > Vector > Diseases > (deactivate the ones you no longer want simulated)

To remove an existing disease from a sim:
On City Hall, NRaas > Vector > Show Debugging > True
On the sims, NRaas > Vector > and look for Cure or Remove Disease, something like that
Back on City Hall, NRaas > Vector > Show Debugging > False (or else you will get really long and complicated debugging logs generated that no one needs to see and they will slow down game performance)

Thanks igazor! Will doing the first step remove it from the town or just stop it from further spreading? I just don't want to be in a situation where the inactives are all passing llama pox around forever if they end up stuck with it if I disable it.
  • I believe that the first step will stop the disease from spreading, but those who already have it will still have the disease and show symptoms as they did before until they recover from it or are cured one way or another.
  • Is there a way to cure the town without starting over? I have like 30 something backups but can't for the life of me remember which one is pre- llama pox. Nor do I really want to go back that far.
  • If you don't want to cure the sims one by one (using Tagger with all sim tags switched on should make this not very painful), you could try deactivating the disease then Save As (new file name), Quit, and pull the add-on module that contains the disease out. Not sure if that will effectively "cure" all sims in town, but seems like it should. You could then not save any further on that one if things don't load up and run as expected.
