Question About CC That Is Attached To Lots

So I just downloaded this lot...

https://www.thesimsresource.com/downloads/details/category/sims3-lots-residential/title/modern-luxury/id/1294164/

I usually avoid TSR but I really like this lot, I ran it through Custard and saw that all the CC listed in the description is included in the download. So the CC is attached to the .sims3pack. I don't use the launcher so any .sims3pack gets converted to .package.

I am very cautious about outside content that goes into my game and so my question is if I install the lot is the CC also installed in my game, like the CC will be in build mode and what not? Or is the CC only with the build? If I remove the .package from my Library folder will the CC be gone as well?

I'm not sure why I'm so confused with this, lol, but I am.

BONUS QUESTION: Can CC be included with .sim files (in regards to custom sims) or only with .sims3pack files?
  • Use this tool to "clean" your sims3packs before installing. It will remove any custom content that you do not want. Tick the boxes on the cc you want to get rid of. Then change it to a package file. If you do not "clean" the sims3pack, yes, that custom content will be added to your game.

    If you install the lot through the launcher, then all the CC that is included will be installed as well in their appropriate sections, and simply removing the lot file from the Library will not get rid of the CC, you will need to go through your launcher and uninstall every piece of it individually.

    If you convert the lot to a package with S3Package Extractor, you'll first actually have to FIND the lot file ( if you don't clean it of CC first ) in amongst all the CC that will also be extracted with it, and then stick in into your Library folder, but the CC will not go with it, unless you put all the other packages that were extracted into your mods folder.
    In which case, deleting the lot and / or CC is just a matter of deleting the files from the appropriate folders.

    Is that what you meant?

    Edit - Custom Content wont tag along on a .sim file, only if its a S3Pack.

    @Pary Yes, thank you. :)

    @Karritz Yeah, when I was using it I found that it wasn't actually even highlighting the CC, just the thumbnails. But when I converted the .sims3pack to a .package the CC was stripped from the lot so I was able to go and download it from TSR and then install it my usual way with CCMagic.

    Thanks everyone for educating me, lol.

    I haven't ever had an issue with Custard not highlighting content. Usually 99% of the time, if you're stripping out CC you only need the very first file listed and none of the others, not even the image files that sims 3 pack stores.

    If Custard is missing CC, then it should be extracted with the rest of the files when using S3PExtractor, but I've never had that happen, nor has it ever incorrectly identified anything. When did this kind of behaviour apparently start with this tool? I have two version, 1.13 & 1.18 and they both work perfectly for me.

    @KatyFernlily I have Custard and planned on using it . When you say ‘added to my game’ you mean that the objects will be in build mode/buy mode just as if I had installed the CC myself?

    Custard is a very old tool and technology has moved on since then. As far as I'm aware it hasn't been updated. Check the date of the Custard file you have to see how old it is. Not when it was last saved to your computer but when it was last modified.

    Custard is known to incorrectly identify things that are not CC as CC. And it will similarly miss CC. But it's better than nothing and is all we seem to have to assist when installing .Sims3Pack files.

    The thing is that if Custard says something is clean it can not be assumed that the thing is definitely clean without any shadow of a doubt.

    @Astro

    I think attachments show up in a column that is usually empty. From distant memory I think it is the right most column of Custard that has content if there are attachments.
