Question About Sims 3 Boarding School?

Heyo i was wondering if i have a boarding school in my town am i able to send them there but they come home everyday?

1. You don't. You can only talk to them on the phone, no visiting.
2. Boarding school is like school for the kids, they learn new traits and do well.
3. If you put them in as a child they stay until they become a teen. After teen you can re-inroll them again or have them stay home and go to public school. They will come back as a young adult after they graduate.

Hard to say -- when a child is about to age up to teen, you can either re-enroll them for another term, or you can have them come home to go to public school (or enroll them in a different boarding school); they'll come home as a teen. When a teen ages up to young adult, they automatically come home. In both cases they get a new trait that you don't get to choose (usually one related to the school they're attending). So I guess when the teen finishes boarding school and becomes a young adult they've "graduated".

Oh, and sometimes you'll have the opportunity to bring them home early; there'll be a dialog box that says they're unhappy at school and asks if you'd like to bring them home (one of my Sims was at School of Peace and Love and the dialog said that she was uncomfortable sharing her feelings); in that instance the child/teen won't age up before they come home so won't get the new trait. You can either go ahead and let them go to public school or send them to a different boarding school, but you don't get a refund on what you already paid for boarding school.

it takes the same time as regular school would. somtimes if a kid isnt having a nice time they can call you can ask to come home early.
you always get the chance to have the kid come home from elementary school before starting high school, or just keep them there.

it is sorta like a break for parents, and i use boarding school alot if i have a large household.

you can always call them home before time if you want to, just like enrolling them.

If I have kids at boarding school I some time have them there Monday til Friday and Friday afternoon call to get them home, then spend the weekend with them and re enroll sunday evening....

Not unless you pull them out of school every day. The whole purpose of boarding school is for the child or teen to go away for school and only come back when they age up.

Do you mean placing a Boarding School in your town with "Edit Town Mode?" I thought boarding schools weren't able to be placed, they aren't even buildings. Correct me if I'm wrong. :oops:

My family has/had 02 teens on boarding school.
Than they appeared at home 3 days befores turning a young adult with nothing they had on their invetory, I lost everything like cars, death flowers and objects. But it still showed they were on boarding schools and they kept earning points for it.

Ont their birthday, they grew up and I could not choose a new trait because it said they had a lack of interest at school.

They didn't graduate.

Now I can't travel with them, everytime I try it says they are on boarding school, even being adults.

Does anyone know how to solve this problem? :cry:
