Routing issues

Hello all!
I'm building a world and am toying around with a zig-zag path down a cliff, but I have a weird annoying routing problem.

I have this 64x64 at the end of this elevated island and then there's this blank space with no routing and then there is a red line that goes the entire way down the island. That whole blank strip between the 64x64 lot and the red line just stays unroutable all down the island, unless I put a lot there, which I obvs can't do on this path down the side of a cliff.

I've tried deleting all the lots, rocks, trees, etc, and hitting the "Rebuild routing data" option, but that space remains blank. I'll probably ditch the path idea if that area of the map somehow got corrupted, but I thought I'd ask the community first if there was a way to rebuild the routing in that specific area. I appreciate any advice or knowledge!

Generally long and winding paths down steep hills are not a great idea. Did you export and test in game? Usually as long as that light blue line is intact, sims will be able to route that path.

It could be a steepness issue. Check that box "include steepness". If everything turns red, the elevation is too steep for sims to route.

Those red lines are boundary boxes of objects, so an object might be the culprit and block routing. It might be a badly made CC object or any other object, maybe buried underground. Only removal of that object will help in that case. If you can't find anything there, it might help to clear the global layer, but there is no guarantee.
  • The red line is from an object. From the looks of it, it looks like a bridge or a very large decorative object.

WOW, both your comments made me think of the only CC I made, that's also probably the largest object in there - the distant terrain. :D Once I moved it forward, the red line disappeared and routing returned to that area and around the zigzag path.

And the path also works in game now! It didn't before. Hopefully it'll still work when I add a few trees and make it look better.
Thank you, thank you so much for the help!
