Story Progession advice?

Hi I have a legacy family I am almost determined in future to only let my sims have 1 child as I get too attached to both ad my lifespan is epic (odd for a legacy player I know) so I know them a long time.

Main issue is the ones moved out never progress beyond howfar  I've progressed them they may change careers to something non player controlled  if its something like painting  but they never get promoted even if workoholics, they never have children unless I switch and direct them to even if their traits would indicate they would want children and I make sure before leavvig them they have the means such as a crib and baby stuff and settled careers. They just stagnate in limbo after I leave....and I hate it

I have thought about story progression mod but worried as my game lags slightly already and don't want to upset a game that can already be temperamental when its been running so well aside from occasional lagging.

Awesome mod I know is less intensive on resources but also less customisiable and would need to learn more

I want the other sibling to have a life too as well without me worrying about and micro managing them, so if  any people see this have experience with these mods could give advice would be appreciated, also if there are any other alternatives I don't know of also feel free to suggest.

I would keep them with  me but you hit the 8 sim limit quickly that way and I know there are mods around this but they can cause their own issues (i've heard your save/ game is more likley to corrupt if you break the limit via mods)

  • Nraas Master Controller is also good, for controlling (who would have thought!) other sims and households. That one is only in use, when its used. Good for tidying up gaps in Story Progression.

If your sims have an epic life-span they could spend some of that extra time tutoring the moved out sims (at maxed Logic skill), take up an architect or stylist career and meddle with the other sims through gameplay. Easier to just use Master Controller and Story Progression though.

  • Cazamelia81  One of the helpful features about NRaas StoryProgression is that you can change the overall speed as well as the speed of each of the managers.  So if your game started lagging, you could slow things down to help performance, and if Snail were still too fast, you could increase the length of a cycle for any given manager (Romance, Career, etc.) until you got the effects you wanted.

Simler's mod is not compatible with certain other NRaas mods, for various reasons, if that's a consideration for you.

  • Thankyou found it and will give it a try, I often do the same re having them already in a relationship before they move out and often with the job and some skills for their chosen career too if its a lifetime wish

  • I use Simler90's core mod (mod the sims).  It  fixes the way EA's story progression was meant to behave. It also has a lot of game fixes. Couples get married and have babies at a slow pace. I usually have my sims get into a relationship and married before I move them out anyway. The NRAAS story progression mod is too aggressive for me even on the snail setting.
