Strange and messy families - I love them!
Something I enjoy is to load up a world and explore the less "significant" households. One world that I'm having a bit of fun with currently is Lucky Palms. Sims seem to have very little morale there in general, or their situation simply doesn't make much sense.
Take the Irwin family, for example. I sit and look at their personalities and relations and end up feeling sort of paralyzed, because I've no idea what to do for these Sims other than simply let them live out their lives - at least the two parents. They have a daughter whom there could be a little hope for if provided with some dedication.
The Irwins appear to like each other very much which is odd, because dad is getting around and is expecting a child with someone else. He is married, but wants a ton of lovers. Mom is an insane nervous wreck, yet wants to become an empress of evil. The people she likes, her husband hates, and vice versa. Her boss in my game is even the woman, her husband is having aforementioned child with. I mean...wow.
When these families were made, their creators must have been high or drunk, or something :D
Nevertheless, I like a good challenge - to somehow make things work despite everything. I'm going to focus on Cricket, the Irwin daughter. See what I can come up with.
What are some of your thoughts on families like this? They exist in abundance, especially in the earlier Sims games. Do you enjoy playing them, or do you prefer more bland (idyllic) and straightforward situations?
