If one of the parents gets LTW they need to be kicked out too because there is no point in them remaining in the house.
So in order to get the most points you need to put up with the overwhelming hassle of dealing with 45 kids. 45 babies you have to keep happy, 45 toddlers that have to play with skill building toys, teach to walk, talk, and use the restroom, read books to if time, 45 children and teenagers that will have to be got up on time to go to school and have homework afterwards and then start building skills, 45 young adults and beyond who will have to who knows what skill wise or career wise to get a LTW.
I realize there is no real winning this challenge and the points are essentially useless but by capping them in certain places you are preventing people from taking different approaches and reporting back results. I was actually sort of curious to see exactly how much money could be made in a 10 generation legacy with no cheating. I guess I could still find out but I won't be a part of this challenge anymore and that irritates me a little.
You can always think of the rules as inspiration and a guideline. It's still YOUR game and you can still try and see how much money you can make and award yourself the points to see how many you can get. You can keep 2 sets of points. The official ones as per strict rules, and your own as per your modified rules.
I just appreciate the effort of Pinstar to keep The Sims 3 challenging and entertaining. But if I find some of the rules I do not enjoy, I have no problems with modifying them so that I do enjoy it. It's still a game and meant to be fun, above all =)
I could award myself points for how many times I can get a couple to woohoo too but it is not part of the challenge anymore because the rules are a moving target. I was close to the halfway point and now I am basically just playing the game by myself again because I am no longer part of the challenge. I applaud pinstar for making a very basic game a little more interesting by issuing a challenge but now it is a lot less interesting because there is no incentive to try and be creative. What is the difference in playing by challenge rules and just playing the game now?
I am just sort of bummed out now. There is no point to future generations. It is more about how well you can do with a founder that is essentially homeless because after that nothing really matters. Considering how easy it is to determine gender the matriarchy and patriarchy options are not hard to do. Really the hardest part of the game is watching child after child get the most horrible traits. I have 4 generations and other than the family trait the best I have done is 2 genius traits and 1 good trait. The rest are loner, hot-headed, mean-spirited, technophobe, loser, hates children, unlucky, insane, etc. The random is not vey random for me for some reason.
Legacy is nothing new to me. In TS2 I had 8 generations. Each child got married and had at least 2 children who got married and had at least 2 children and so forth. It was so huge I had to add a suburb to veronaville just to have space for all the houses I needed. There was no challenge involved it was just how I played the game.
