TUTORIAL :: Adding basements to existing houses with foundation :: No demolishing necessary!

I'd like to add a note to this that if you have a house that uses a foundation for most of the house, but have a ground-level portion (say a foyer), you apparently have to add foundation over the section that will have the stairs then follow these instructions in order to put stairs from the ground-level portion to the basement. Once the stairs are in place, as though leading to the landing, you can just delete the extra foundation and return your foyer to the way you wanted.

Probably clear as mud...
