Unbelievable
Sorry I am going to rant for a little bit.
lets start at the beginning.
Yesterday I noticed that I was missing some stuff packs from my sims 3 launcher.
I did noticed they where installed and owned in origin.
I tried everything to make them work. Uninstall, install again. Log off. Log on. Remove the folders. Whatever...
So next step is chat with a EA adviser.
Nice guy, says that they keys for those games were not legal and that was the reason I couldn't play them anymore,
I probably bought those online by a key game retailer and now after 4 years they noticed they were not good.
But not to worry he said, he would fix it. He would send my case to customer experience department and they would fix it.
No problem. I just had to wait for their email.
That email came the next day in French. I can write and speak reasonably English and my native language is Dutch. That's it.
So the chat again it is. They explain to me my retailer requested to pull back the keys and I should contact with them.
For the love of sims I can't remember where I bought those stuff packs. I looked in my bank accounts, emails, but can't find it.
So after a couple of hours I open the chat again and tell them I don't remember where I bought them.
And if my retailer requested those keys back they should know who my retailer was, so I could contact them. No answer.
At this time I was getting pretty tired of the mess and I just asked if I could buy the stuff packs again and install them.
Yes, I could, but if I wanted to be save I should buy them from origin.
I asked to be sure which games I needed to buy again and if I could buy them in origin, because those games were still installed and owned.
Yes, I could and he ends the chat.
So I close origin and start it up again, wanting to buy the stuff pack I am missing. Of course I can't. Because origin still says I already own the games. So I can't buy them or even gift them to myself. Happy life.
Hi it's me I am back, EA adviser.
I explain the whole situation and they tell me they can't change my origin, because my retailer should contact them first. Why I don't know.
But they would send my case to Customer Experience, so they could solve it (because they can), and remove the games from origin.
This email came a hour later. I will copy.
Hello,
Thank you for contacting us regarding your inability to access The SIms 3.
After reviewing your case, we found that your game was purchased from a third-party retailer who has requested that the code should be disabled.
You can resolve this issue by contacting the retailer.
You can review the full User Agreement at http://tos.ea.com/legalapp/WEBTERMS/US/en/PC/
Thank you,
Unbelievable.
So my next step should be to contact them again, but I noticed they banned me. No chat for me anymore.
Just Unbelievable...
ps: sorry for the grammar and spelling mistakes.
