- SimplyJenNew Spectator@BatmanFanGirl It's called the LEPacy challenge. I made a separate game folder just for this challenge to limit the use of extra content (CC and store) but I still use plenty of mods. :p
@JoAnne65 I started playing TS3 in 2011 and kept up with every release since Pets but I still have things that I haven't done before. It's definitely a fun challenge. - I have 1.69 since I had to re-install my game (due to a non-game related issue), and the thing that gets me "cheezed off" is how it'll UN-check (by itself) at random times! So, I go to play and get the Base start-up screen (instead of the ITF). This means I have to quit the game, relaunch the launcher, and RE-check my EP's and SP's, THEN I can FINALLY go play!
- So is it trying to tell some simmers "Hey, your PC, laptop, toaster really can't run all these EP/SP's without exploding so you better pick just some of them?". How does it know? And I wonder if everyone gets that message or just some? (I've never had a problem running any of the Sims, I always buy my PC's with the games in mind).

Everyone on Patch 1.69 gets that message and the offer to never show it again. The game isn't at all selective about it."5782341b77vl;15100754" wrote:

That's really bad. That's like having to set all the options all over again each time before playing, you don't want that either."nickibitsward;15100845" wrote:

I'm glad you mentioned toasters, but don't forget, some people play on a potato too! :D- karritzNew Spectator

When I let Origin update as I haven't in forever, I noticed it automatically lined up updating Sims 4 and then updating to the 1.69 patch. I cancelled that action but I'm wondering if doing anything through Origin will trigger it again? I have automatic updates unticked on the launcher.
There are 3 check boxes in Origin that seem to overrule the check box on the launcher. I have the Origin check boxes all unchecked. That way I have to approve updates to Origin plus updates to games plus mandatory updates to games. None of them will update automatically. But to stop that from happening you have to have the check boxes in Origin unchecked.
Also - once you get Origin open, you will see your Sims 3 icon in your My Games page will have a message above it saying there is an update available. You need to cancel that by clicking the tiny (almost invisible) cross in the top right corner of that message. "hmae123;15102886" wrote:
I'm using, seasons, generations, ambitions and supernatural and it works fine. I might add one more do you all think it'll be fine? I'm going to wait till my next generation so much I'm still discovering right now, and I can't decide if I should get, into the future, island vacation or world adventures.
I have all but one expansion packs and I play with every single one on. Ever since Windows 10, my game started crashing a lot less. Last time it crashed it was snowing in the town for a while and I think it just got to be too much. So my advice is, try to keep winter time smaller as it causes lag and Island Paradise is a lag mess. I'd be curious to see if it got better with only that EP on. That's my favorite EP out of the three you mentioned but just be prepared it comes with a lot of tech problems. There are a few solutions that seem to help a bit though if you get that one. But it really will depend on your computer. Mine is a Dell and I'm pretty sure it's not a gaming computer as my brother complains about his hardcore games not working well. Sims still works fine though. If all those Eps work for you, I'm sure one more won't hurt :)- karritzNew Spectator

It all depends on your computer and the size of your world and your graphic options.
I have all expansion packs and all stuff packs and all store content I was able to find to buy and all free content from the store and from buying from Origin and about 3 GB of mods and cc and mine all works well most of the time. I do save often though. "Pandypink;15102966" wrote:

It's not typically the IP pack that causes all that mess if your computer can handle the others. The Isla Paradiso world itself is design-flawed. Many of us found ways to fix it up, some prefer to use the IP content in other worlds that aren't so goofed up. Some players can get it working well as is, but those seem to be the rare exceptions. For most players, that world as it comes would glitch up even on a system that would be the envy of most medium sized countries' defense departments, it would just glitch up more smoothly (if that makes any sense).
