- Thanks for the advice everyone! I think I'll just steer clear of the IP EP then. World adventures with its photography skill is appealing to me the most but the into the future one sounds really interesting too.
- I use @ciane's save files for a fixed IP world and it works pretty well http://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/811253/removing-ip-lag/p1

I have a fixed version too. It works for me. Plus I use NRAAS mods for all my worlds now.
If you use EllaCharmed actual fixed world where she took it into CAW and fixed the routing as well as ciane's files you should have everything handled.
One of them fixed the issues you need to use CAW to fix and replaced the default world file and the other took the broken world file and fixed the houses and things that are so badly built it causes all sorts of lag while townie sims try to endlessly negotiate obstacles in their houses.

When I let Origin update as I haven't in forever, I noticed it automatically lined up updating Sims 4 and then updating to the 1.69 patch. I cancelled that action but I'm wondering if doing anything through Origin will trigger it again? I have automatic updates unticked on the launcher.
There are 3 check boxes in Origin that seem to overrule the check box on the launcher. I have the Origin check boxes all unchecked. That way I have to approve updates to Origin plus updates to games plus mandatory updates to games. None of them will update automatically. But to stop that from happening you have to have the check boxes in Origin unchecked.
Also - once you get Origin open, you will see your Sims 3 icon in your My Games page will have a message above it saying there is an update available. You need to cancel that by clicking the tiny (almost invisible) cross in the top right corner of that message.
Thanks, I don't normally go through Origin to play but I will go in and uncheck everything!- suzsesSeasoned NewcomerThe Nraas mods are still usable, still very valuable to your game performance. If you're looking for a good "fixed" IP, I'd recommend @ciane 's - thread and download link here: https://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/811253/removing-ip-lag
Since this thread is pretty old, expect the mods to lock it down possibly before you can ask anything else. You may want to repost in the thread for new members having game problems: https://forums.thesims.com/en_us/discussion/893122/thread-for-new-members-to-post-their-sims-3-game-issues/p1 - @whyOwhyO - (typing quickly before this thread gets locked up) We are still alive and well at NRaas and have been updating and providing support for the mods ever since Twallan's retirement over six years ago. I would suggest paying us a visit or joining us and participating on our forum boards if you would like assistance with the mods. Of course some time has passed so we're all like 102 years old now, but we still manage to drag ourselves over to our computers and help players out whenever we can. :)
And no, as @suzses says the mods alone are helpful but not enough to fix up the Isla Paradiso world design flaws. I'm playing in that world right now as a Traveler mod vacation world (when I actually have time to play) and with the major lot fixes applied to it it's all running just fine. - karritzNew Spectator

One last question I will look further into it but your advices are very useful ! Is there a particular order in which I must install the mods ? for example the IP fixed world from @ciane and the Nraas mods ? Like should I first get Nraas mods such as master controller and overwatch or sould I first check if the IP fixed thread is usable and install it and then install Nraas mods ?
Is there a possibility that some mods prevent each other from working or do not work simultanously ?
First - old threads get locked if someone posts in them. It's called necroposting and is against the forum rules so a moderator will drop by shortly and lock this thread.
There are some mods that will crash the game if you have them installed on their own. For example, the Cupcake mod will crash if you don't have the bakery installed. There are groups of mods at NRAAS with a base mod and lots of extra mods that require the base mod to be installed at the same time as the extra mods are installed. Examples are Story Progression mod and Master Controller mod both have lots of extra mods that are very useful but you can't just have the extra mods in your game without the base. - Oh I did not know that it's my first time on forums that's too bad. I will go on more recent threads if I need more info. thank you very much for the insights though !

Igazor what did you mean by : "with the major lot fixes applied" ?
I meant the ones indicated on ciane's forum thread that you have already been linked to. I did my own fixing up before ciane so helpfully documented all of that years ago, but the most important ones (for me) were getting rid of the most broken four of the bunch and moving the sims who lived there elsewhere. Those were Scott (houseboat), Ichtaca (castle), Medina, and Los Amigos. Then I moved all of the sims who lived on houseboats inland except for the one family of playable ghosts, I left them alone. I think that was overkill on my part and I probably could have moved maybe half of them off the boats, but EA really did get carried away there. That was enough for me to make the world playable, I already had a fixed underlying .world file in place that was done by EllaCharmed, and of course I already had the mods in play. Different players on different systems are going to reach the point of playability at different times.
It doesn't matter from a technical standpoint which way you approach things first, but my suggestion would be to try the mods on a world that you are already comfortable playing so you get a feel for how they work before jumping back into Isla Paradiso. The full list of mods designed specifically to improve game performance would be Overwatch, ErrorTrap, Register (very important in IP), Traffic, to an extent GoHere, Traveler (if any form of world travel is to be used), and MasterController (for its Town > Reset Everything command from City Hall). The others are just great and fun to have, some of them do fix more obscure issues, but they do not necessarily rise to the above category.
There is still an active mod development and content design community around TS3, just not as large in numbers as we once were. The same could be said for TS2 and that's a game that was first released in 2004. Those of us who love a particular iteration of this game series do not necessarily drop it when something new and shiny comes along, and many of us still fail to be interested enough in TS4 for various reasons not relevant to list here while others appreciate and love both or all of the game iterations for what they each are. :)- You've been crystal clear thank you very much ! let's stop "necroposting" I am going to try all that first and then I will look into the mods as it looks a bit complicated to me to install them (I am not very good with computers and stuff, they don't like me these sweet machines).
Thanks again to all of you and to this forum ! See ya on other threads ;)
