I'll just post something about what happened in my game for a change :D
As my last game was basically a test how the game would hold up if I reduce the number of packs I load (to no surprise, it held up splendidly), I wanted to know what happens if I try something like a lepacy, although with different rules (like no traveling at all), and I'm not against changing even those rules on the fly. The world is a completely empty one that @Rflong7 made for Evalen, called Britown. I started with 7 sims that got stranded in a storm on an island in a restricted area. The island had been prepared by someone for inhabitation. I added a beach lot and a warehouse, which is supposed to contain the building materials. Here's the first iteration of the beach lot:

Now I got reminded that the base game doesn't have sleeping bags or tents. My bad. Being forced to nap on the garden furniture doesn't make for compelling gameplay, which meant I prepared the upper story of the warehouse for the sims to sort each other into couples.

I also built the first actual community lot, a library, aside from the two parks the world comes with, the beach lot and the warehouse, the latter of which will be switched to "no visitors allowed" until much later.

As all seven sims lived in the same household, the "sorting out" didn't take long. Given there were already a couple of pregnancies, I thought it was time to get things finished.
Here's the start of the Anderson family:

And the Stewart's:

Some of the sims may look familiar, as they are edited versions of some I already used before in other games. And, of course, there's the seventh sim who got left out and is intended for times I really don't want to deal with babies :p , who kept his original clothes.

The starter houses are all very basic:

The interior doesn't leave much room, either, but the houses got extended later.

My third community lot was the cemetery, because I didn't want to lose any sims completely to accidents, although those are near impossible with NRaas mods in play.

The next thing to look for was some work opportunity. The base game doesn't have any self-employed careers, and I didn't really want to play all sims all the time. I looked through all the base game careers, and, oddly enough, the Science career seemed like the best fit as a starter. While that doesn't really make sense in real life, it makes sense in game terms. The skills the sims will need are gardening, fishing and handiness, and all of those are exactly the stuff they would need in their situation. For that reason, we got a fishing lot with a science building as first work lot.

Here, they can also get all base game plants.
Anyway, that's it for the start. Happy simming!
