Forum Discussion
I've been very scarce on the forums since it opened. I have to get into the habit of coming here daily and trying to contribute more. What happened in my Sims 3 game today?
I am in the process of doing a complete reinstall of my The Sims 3 game folder. First I used ciane's method and organized my spreadsheet to install everything (I own the store) avoiding duplicate installs as much as possible. Once my spreadsheet was complete, I followed it and now have a "perfect copy" of my The Sims 3 folder with only store content. It is zipped and stored in my external drive on my laptop, my external drive on my desktop PC, and our family network on hubby's desktop PC. I contemplated putting it on the cloud but didn't feel it was necessary.
Now I am working my way through installing 92 custom content items to The Sims 3 (store only) folder. I have 4 worlds, 26 CAS + Pattern files, 5 buy/build objects (ATS3 typewriter, cameras, vegetable storage, and wicker trunk), 26 Sims, 8 households, 21 residential properties, and 2 community lots. These files are either my creations, downloaded from the Exchange, or sent to me privately by other Simmers.
At the moment, I am working on Worlds and realized that I downloaded and installed the wrong version of Legacy Island III (rflong13). I had downloaded the empty version when I wanted the one complete with homes and community lots. So now I have to uninstall that one and install Legacy Island III (Rflong7).
PS - For anyone curious, the worlds I am installing are Alryne Valley (my creation - link goes to latest version 1.2 plus empty and populated saves - more details in other posts on this topic - click the link for Alryne Valley at the top to see all posts), Glenvale County (Rflong7), Legacy Island III (Rflong7), and Sunset Valley Empty (sookielee).
That takes dedication! I tried following Ciane's guide once and it was taking too long and I got confused. XD

It took a lot of patience. I muddled through some of it and had to go back and figure out which compilations and sets I could skip. I created the spreadsheet before I even started to install the store items. It helped that I owned the whole store and could skip a lot of sets by just installing the compilations.
I might upload the spreadsheet to Mediafire for others to follow who have the entire store.
