Which iteration did magic/witches best?

Witches were best in Sims 3 - but one of my fav packs will always be Makin Magic in my heart. LOL. That had to be the most fun ever in a game pack as it had so many side games besides just the Magic and tons of characters and things to do. I used to love getting free stuff in game by helping out the shop keepers when they would send my sim on missions to help other sims. I earned a lot of ingredients I did not need magic coins for doing those side games. Lots of fun - that pack.

The only thing I had wished was that sims should have been born a witch - instead of any sim being able to be one. I really think at least the more powerful witches need to have that in their genes and not just a learned thing.

The witches in TS3 were good as well, but I had more fun with the duels in Makin' Magic.

Also I think the Sorcerer in TSM deserves a vote. The tower, the spells, the cauldron -- all were great!

If I absolutely have to choose one, then 3.

1 allowed anyone to just pick a wand and wave it. That didn't really make "Witches" anything special.
2 implemented an alignment system. Spells should not change the spellcaster and limit the spells they can use.
3 allowed for all spells, but the spells themselves were limited. At least the Witch had variances within their own personalities because of traits.

I'm hoping I can say 4 did it best!

There is some things i could put into makin' magic from other games like witch life state and such that was not introduced in it
but I still like the overall of makin' magic loads more than the other packs because idk magic just meant so much more for me in that pack

personally wasn't really fan of supernatural as pack at all like idk lots of things got half baked
because they tried to do so much at once and the overall mood just was not all that magical for me

not sure about ts2 because it been long since I played it
I do remember liking it back when I played ts2 tho so that says something maybe?

Sims 1 magic was huge and so much fun!

I think Supernatural did witches best, in terms of them as an occult. I don't consider witches to be present in Makin' Magic, since everyone could do magic.

I think Makin Magic had the best charms and spells. That EP was so fun.

100% agree. TSM's runes were definitely a great mechanic. Potions was fun, but pretty similar to TS3 alchemy. I do wish scrying could've been a bit more fleshed out, but I understand how/why they limited that to quests only.

This sent me down a rabbit hole of watching sims 1 gameplay again and UGH I have to change my vote to makin' magic. So much content and the great clothes for witchy sims

I found witches in both TS2 and TS3 boring, most due to magic being tied to the witch life state. I want a world full of magical things, not just witches.
