and to anyone having a black screen crash after installing the patch:
its important to know if you have any core mods like awesomemod or any mods that require special steps to remove
then if you could please drag your sims 3 doc folder to the desktop and try again.

if these steps didnt work its possible the patch corrupted programming files. To fix first keep out sims 3 doc folder, uninstall just the base game, run a ccleaner to remove leftover register keys, reinstall base and add super patch. Use the manual super patch, find links in first post.

Ok, I thought I had removed all the cc but there was still some showing in my install tab so after uninstalling all of the content still in the launcher it works.
