403 Forbidden - The Sims 3 Store

Hey everyone,

I'm trying this out of desperation.  I'm trying to access the Sims 3 store to download my content that I've had for years onto my MacBook Pro (macOS Sonoma).  Every time I load thesims3.com, I'm met with a 403 Forbidden error.  If I type in store.thesims3.com, I will see the site but then when I got to log in, I'm getting the same error again.

Additional Info: My VPN is off when I'm trying to do this.

I've tried to email Help. I just end up in a cyclone of emails going nowhere and new cases being formed.

Please help.

Thanks.

    Hi.  Thanks for answering.

Unfortunately this happens with all browsers.  Safari, Chrome and Firefox.  ☹️

@simsashes  Please try using a different network, for example setting your phone as a mobile hotspot (using data, not your home wifi) and connecting your computer to that.  Use a private browser window so any data the browser has cached doesn't come into play.

Thanks for the advice.  Unfortunately neither of those had worked.

What has worked is that I happened to travel and suddenly everything was working in the new country.   It doesn't help much when I go home (the original country I was in when I bought everything all those years ago *sigh*) but it's something, I suppose.

@simsashes  Try contacting EA customer support and asking for help.  Apparently for some users at least, something needs to be reset on the EA side.  This issue isn't exactly the same as yours, but it sounds similar enough, and a support rep did something, I'm not sure what, to fix it:

    https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-PC/Sims-3-launcher-won-t-let-me-re-download-store-bought-content/m-p/13600067#M264958

I would strongly recommend using live chat rather than email.  If you don't see the option, try this link:

    https://help.ea.com/en/help-contact-us/?product=the-sims-3&topic=missing-game&category=manage-my-account&subcategory=find-missing-game

Make sure you're signed into an EA site (this one is fine) before clicking the link and that the location in the lower-right corner of the browser window is set to U.S. or U.K.

If you don't get anywhere with support, let me know, and I'll ask around to see if there's anything else you should do or request.

So I was having the same issue but I found that I had my VPN on and there was a killswitch which is something I dont really need. If you have this try turning it all off
