@starlysh If you still have the discs, you can switch to an all-disc installation and update the game to 1.67. It will take awhile, though, since it would mean uninstalling then reinstalling everything via DVD. If you don't have the discs and don't have the money (who does these days), you can try borrowing them off of someone else.
I have the first few disks, but bought the rest on Origin or the Store. Not sure I have the patience to reinstall everything again 😃
After posting this, I discovered a thread on the Sims forum that gave me some hope that they're working on a solution. I still wish EA would let players have a choice until their new app is fixed.
