After the menu it takes over 3 hours to load and then crashes!

So, I had a problem before where it was a black screen as soon as I started the game, turns out I had to wait over 10 minuets for it to get to the Maxis screen. Now, when I try to start a new game it takes well over 2/3 hours to load, doesn't do anything, then crashes to the desktop with the error message "Sims 3 has stopped working". Now I'm extremely mad.

I just want to play my game, I tried a factory reset and ooh guess what... Exact same thing happens. From what I've read on other forums no one has had this problem before. Ugh, I just want to play the damn game. I haven't got anymore cc since this started happening (Obviously)

I am getting a computer for my birthday, it is being built by my friend. It's supposed to be built for gaming... Should I just stop playing Sims till then? :c

    Yes, that's it 🙂

    There's three issues with your computer.

    The game's minimum specs are as follows (note that it also runs on Windows 8 if you have patch level 1.42 so that's not the problem)

    The minimum requirements for this game are already way too low and if you add a few expansion packs, it can come to the point where it doesn't run anymore.

    PC System Requirements

    • OS: XP SP2 / Vista SP1 / Windows 7
    • CPU: For XP 2.0 GHz P4 processor or equivalent; For Windows Vista and Windows 7 2.4 GHz P4 processor or equivalent
    • RAM: For XP 1 GB RAM / Windows Vista and Windows 7 1.5 GB RAM*
    • DISC DRIVE: DVD drive
    • Hard Drive: At least 7.1GB of hard drive space with at least 1 GB additional space for custom content and saved games.
    • Video: 128 MB Video Card with support for Pixel Shader 2.0

    There's three issues with your computer.

    The game's minimum specs are as follows (note that it also runs on Windows 8 if you have patch level 1.42 so that's not the problem)

    The minimum requirements for this game are already way too low and if you add a few expansion packs, it can come to the point where it doesn't run anymore.
