Are there any ways to remove/fix the Mystic aura in the sims 3?

So my sim recently got to the top of the Mystic branch in the fortune teller career, and the mystic aura will occasionally be around him. This has ruined a relationship with one of his friends in the scientist career, and I read it can ruin relationships with sims who have certain traits like good, family-oriented and friendly. I really don't want to make him quit his job because I worked very hard to get him there and its the main source of income. I tried using this mod,[CM Edit: please don't link mods here] to fix it but it doesn't seem to work at all (relationships are still dropping). Is there any way I can disable this, or try to fix it myself, without making my sim leave the fortune teller career? Thanks in advance.

  • @okeydesuka  I recently saw a discussion on the NRaas site about this issue, and the original poster said the mod was working.  Did you delete scriptCache.package after adding it?  If not, it might not be active.

If the mod is in fact not helping, you can accomplish what you want with one or more NRaas Retuner settings.  Click on City Hall and select:

    NRaas > Retuner > Settings > General > By Tunable XML > Sims3.Gameplay.Careers > FortuneTellerCareer > kMysticAuraParams

And you'll see a number of options.  You could set RelationshipToLose to 0, or +1 if you wanted the relationships to increase slightly after a negative reaction.  Or you could change the Boo Occupations and BooTraits to ones you think are more suitable or at least more convenient for your particular sim.

I do think it's appropriate for a scientist to be skeptical and probably even lost respect (friendship) with a mystic, but if you don't want it to happen for this sim, you can make a temporary adjustment and change it back later if you want.

I don't remember deleting script cache, I'll redownload the mod and try it again.  Where i can find the script cache file because I dont remember seeing one in the mod folder?

@okeydesuka  It's in the Sims 3 user folder, the one that contains the Mods folder as well as your saves and other user data.  It's a good idea to delete all five cache files regularly, but scriptCache is the only one that needs to be deleted any time you add or remove a mod, as opposed to custom content.

    CASPartCache.package

    compositorCache.package

    scriptCache.package

    simCompositorCache.package

    socialCache.package
